Angveirt Plug-in Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller for Home, Garage & RV

We live in the country, so mice are 1000% unavoidable. We have five cats and a dog, so we don't want to use any kind of poison or dangerous chemical deterrent as our cats have gotten ahold of some mice and chomped down. If the mice are poisoned and the cat(s) eat them, it would be too late for vet care before we realized what happened. We take all the preventative steps we can like not leaving any pet or people food out, putting out pet safe mice deterrent, etc. There are baited snap traps all over the place, but mice still sneak into the house. Our pest guy said that without poison baiting, it's a constant battle since mice can get into a house through the tiniest openings. And having a house in a place where the mice have significant natural predators is a spot mice will seek out for safety. We live across from a nature preserve with several species of predators such as eagles, hawks, coyotes, foxes, and such. Before ordering, we had no idea if these would work or not. Based on research done with online reviews, pest control blogs, and several animal websites, it's a toss-up as to whether or not electronic pest control works. These plug-in model and a couple other battery powered electronic gadgets like this have been installed and working 24/7 throughout our house for five or six weeks now. Since these came into action, the number of mice seen has gone from one (or worse, two) a week to ZERO. None in the traps, none caught by our cats and used as toys or grosser yet brought to us in the middle of the night as a present. The ONLY thing that has changed in our battle is the addition of these electronic repellers. Our cats may not be happy at the reduction in play toys, but we're not and neither is our pest control guy. When we set these up, he wasn't able to tell us if they'd work or not, but even he is impressed that after using these, we can't deny that there has been a major reduction in mice. Even though it's freezing outside and mice usually head inside to seek shelter from the weather, this winter is nothing like winter last year (2019-2020) where we had to double our efforts against the stupid mice. As for these units, they are easy to operate. Basically plug them in, select a setting, and you're all set. We have these in/around our bedrooms, so we don't use the strobe light option, only the sonic setting. Our pets aren't bothered by the lights or the range of frequency noises put out through the speakers. The units are small enough to be put almost anywhere within three feet of an outlet, and they are pretty unobtrusive. There is a little green light that blinks and lets you know that it's on and working, but it's not something that will keep anyone awake. Even in a dark hallway it's barely noticeable. As far our experience goes, these have been a massive help in our fight against Mickey and Minnie trying to couch surf rent free in our house. We aren't going to dispense with the traps and such, and if anything will add more of these electronic repellers to our arsenal for the spring critter migration.

In the box, there's the unit, instructions, and an A/C adapter. One thing worth noting; the AC adapter is VERY tight fit - I thought I was going to break the unit plugging it in...something for consideration. Since it's plugged into the back of it, I plan on keeping the A/C adapter plugged in at all times. On the back of the unit, there's a toggle switch, with 4 positions - 'TEST', '1', '2', and '3' - modes are detailed below. 'TEST' is a very annoying, immediate sound - I hope to never switch it to that again, accidentally or otherwise. There is a volume control knob on the back, which allows for a large range of volume adjustment. The unit has 3 LED strips along the top surface, which are disabled by default...these can be toggled with the red button on the front, labeled 'LED' - useful for disabling the lights when you're in the room, if they bother you. I would not recommend being in the room with it, or having pets nearby, in modes 1 or 3 - mode 1 irritates them, and 3 spooks them (predatory animal noises). 2 had no noticeable effect on them, but it would affect rodents, as it's the same as the battery-operated units (which I own several of). Pros: * Has 3 separate sound modes * One is inaudible to human/cat ears (can't attest to dogs, don't have any - this is mode '2') * One can be heard by everyone (sort of shrill, this is mode '1') * One is predator sounds (this freaks out the cats, but probably does an equal if not better job on rodents) * These modes are all switched between with a toggle switch in the back, which has positive feedback. * Volume control knob on the back goes from a quiet whisper to 'wake the house up' loud - good range. * The LED lights on top are toggle-able with a red button on the front of the unit, so you can disable these when you are in the room with it. * Unit feels solid enough, acts similarly (if not improved) to the battery units, which keep mice away from my grill, and under the hoods of my cars. * A/C powered, no batteries to change out. Not sure of power usage, haven't had it plugged in long enough to get any info...also don't have any wattage calculator tools; shouldn't use too much power, since it's just a speaker and some LEDs. Power used will be vastly less than cost to repair rodent damage. * Seems to work as intended against rodents. Cons: These are more personal grievances than anything, not worth docking any stars for: * No 'off' position on switch, or other way to shut unit completely off - the LED toggle is nice, but if I have the unit in the mode with screeching falcons, et. al - I'd like to be able to shut that off when I'm in the room with it, AND LEDs...but it's not a deal-breaker. * Unsure of durability of plug - as stated prior, takes more force than I'm comfortable with plugging the adapter into the unit...don't know how many uses this will last. Easily mitigated by not unplugging the adapter from the unit. If/when the unit breaks, I will update this review. Edit 8/30/20: Manufacturer responded; stated they will consider updating the fit/finish of the A/C adapter so it feels more confident plugging in.

Installed in a 12' x 15' concrete block walled cellar with the ultra-sound and LED flashing lights activated for a couple months, there has been a noticeable reduction in rodent sign and no further snap-trap captures. IMHO, the Predator Call feature was a cost without value. Even at lowest volume, the calls were endlessly repetitive and such a nuisance that the rooms above became unusable. So I turned it off. Time will tell if the rodents habituate to the lights/ultrasound over time and return. So far, so good.

i tried to use this for mice. i bought the zn 666 rodent repellent sound machine in november. i noticed no difference, but to comply with the request in the product info, I waited 20 days. still no change. during that time my dog got sick and died jan 1. then i was grieving. i couldn't think about getting the rodent noise machine working at that time, but left it on in the basement. during the winter i didn't see rodent activity in my kitchen pantry closet, however, when i put out test bird seed on the basement stairs, it quickly disappeared. i didn't want to turn out the mice during the maine winter, as i understand they couldn't have found another home and would die. so i waited until spring to contact the company then a 3 week retreat came up, and i was busy getting ready to close my clinic and leave for 3 weeks, and then was on retreat in may. before i left, i noticed the mouse had gotten into the birdseed in the pantry closet in april. when i got back, a worker had turned off the machine. i turned it back on, but without the animal sounds. i started noticing more mouse activity upstairs (raiding the birdseed) and so turned the animal sounds back on. however, i noticed no change in the activity level. i had noticed in the fall, the sounds seemed to be a deterrent, and i noticed less mouse activity in the kitchen in the winter. its taken me some time to get back, get caught up to where i had time to find the product info and contact the company. however, when i didn't, the emails bounced. of course the amazon return window has long closed. i could have returned the product in november, when i saw it wasn't working, but i tried to be nice and wait the 20days. life happened, and i didn't get it returned within the amazon window.

I purchased this after attempts of other sonic repellents have failed to work. I've been seeing more mouse droppings in my kitchen and living room despite these other repellents. After seeing this one online and all the good reviews, I thought I'd give it one last go with sonic repellent. The instructions for the device are well written and easy to understand. The device itself is easy to use. The only thing I wasn't real clear about is if the volume controlled the sonic sounds or just the animal noise sounds (it's only the animal noises if you use that feature). I keep mine on the DUO setting and us and the dog do not have any problems with it. If you get real close to it, you can hear a little something coming from it, but it's not loud enough to bother me. I've had it on 3 days and no mouse droppings. I also bought some traps and i keep one in the kitchen, one by the kitchen door and one in the living room. The one in the living room is the only one that caught anything, so it seems that the mice are avoiding the kitchen with this device. If it continues to work, i will purchase more for the basement and other areas.

The package insert does explain that the device is not 100% perfect, but I was surprised to see the beginnings of a mouse nest under my car's hood (convertible stored for winter in the garage) about two weeks after setting up the device. So out came the traps and I caught three. That was about four weeks ago and I've not seen any further signs, so it may be working. To be fair, prior to trapping the mice, I was not using the animal noises or the flashing strobe lights, but now both of those functions have been switched on. I'll post another review in the spring, when my car comes out of hibernation.

Edit: November 22, 2021. After using this device and another one like it for almost 2 years successfully with no sign of any mice, I just had a mouse show up in the engine of my vehicle this past weekend. Yikes! I swear by these devices and was really annoyed seeing the video of a mouse running right by it and all around the engine. Maybe they are getting used to the sounds and lights? What do I do now?? I decided to put another one of these devices underneath the car, plus I sprayed peppermint oil all around and put out some mouse poison. I'm sad to say that the lights on the 2nd unit I put out weren't working and it was brand new out of the box, but too long past the purchase date to do anything about it. I guess the sounds will have to do the trick. Has anyone found any other devices that work? I purchased this to put near a car in my metal building because I have been having trouble with rats getting in the engine. I have night vision cameras there and had recordings of a rat moving around in the engine compartment every night this week. I received this item Friday and placed it at the front of the engine compartment with the hood open and there was no sign of any rats since then. Fingers crossed that this does the trick to keep them out of my car. It’s much smaller than I expected and the strobe lights don’t seem that bright, but the animal noises it makes are really cool. I am happy to have one that I can plug-in and I won’t have to worry about changing batteries. I may put another one in the building just to try and keep critters out of the whole building. I had used a rodent spray and dryer sheets earlier in the week and three hours after doing this, I had a video of a rat running around in the engine, so that’s not effective at all. I am so happy with this amazing little gadget and will post back again, if it continues to keep my car free of rat sightings or not. It could save me hundreds of dollars.

I have tried several approaches to keep pesky squirrels and mice out of our attic. Both have done significant damage over the past few years. Rather than kill them I just wanted them to stay elsewhere. This small little electronic wonder seems to be doing an excellent job. I have tried similar devices in the past but always wondered if they were working. This provides an audible test signal you can hear and also provides a led strobe light if you think you need it. The unit is small which is what you want. It also does not seem to impact us or our furry pets in any way. Beware that such devices will not broadcast through walls. If you have multiple enclosed areas. One unit per area is required. Our attic is very large but has no walls and one device seems to be adequate. Update: I liked this item so much that I just purchased a second and will likely order another one very soon for another building.
