Awesome hoses! No gas in the mouth!
I was taught long ago to work smarter, not harder. Its taken me a while to figure that out and I still revert to my old ways sometimes but these siphon hoses are one of those times where I am smarter. They work great! I use them to siphon gas from my 5 gallon cans into my truck.I cycle the gas in my 5 gallon cans which I store for my generator on a monthly basis. I know that seems excessive even with STA-BIL but I would rather be safe than sorry. Emptying a 5 gallon tanks use to a while especially with the CARB requirements of fuel cans now. Using these siphon hoses takes less than two minutes! It saves time and saves me having to hold the can.Since it is a two pack and can be used for gas or water, I wrapped the one I use for gas with red electrical tape to make sure I won't accidentally use it on something that could potentially be going in my body.Super simple to use. Below is what I do:1. Place gas can above the fill tank of vehicle (in my case, I place it on my roll-in bed cover)2. Unscrew both caps and insert the non-metal end into vehicle and metal end into the gas can3. Gently shake siphon until the gas travels into the siphon and passes below the bottom of the gas container. Watch it flow! You can also hear the marble banging around.4. When the gas can gets low, tilt the can to get the last of it.5. After it has emptied, be careful to get the last few drops out of the hose.6. Pat yourself on the back as you are now done!

These siphons work extremely well
These siphons work extremely well... they're easy to use and they work quite well.I use them to put gasoline into my other vehicles. When I accumulate enough Giant Eagle gas rewards that I can get free gasoline (up to 30 gallons), I fill up my car (~14-15 gallons) and then fill up three 5-gallon gas containers. Then when I get down near empty, I use a couple of those 5-gallon gas containers and one of these siphons to add the gas quickly and easily to my car (it sure beats holding the gas container up to fill up the tank). Here is how I do it, more specifically:1 - place cardboard on trunk (or roof) of car to protect paint2 - lift 5-gallon gas container/gascan onto cardboard (keep cap on, in case you don't keep it level while lifting it up there)3 - take off gas cap4 - insert siphon (plastic end) into gas opening of vehicle5 - insert other siphon end (metal end) into gas can/container6 - shake siphon (metal end in the 5-gallon gas container) mildly to vigorously until the gas travels into the siphon and passes below the level of bottom of the gas container (this is how siphon then allows gravity to take over).7 - as gas can gets relatively low, I tilt it towards me (so that there's a low end that gas will sit on) and I also hold the siphon to point to the side that is lower (while tilted) to pick up that gas8 - once it sputters and finishes, I lift gas can (still has siphon in it) down to the ground9 - then I remove the siphon from vehicle, still leaving other (metal-end) in the gas can, and I shake it a little and give it time to drop any last few drips back into the container10 - then put everything awayThese instructions may seem silly, but I had a friend for whom I bought these siphons and he was doing things strangely and spilling gas in his garage until I showed him, step-by-step, how I do it. For those of you who might need them or take advantage of them, I provided them so that you can follow them while you get used to the routine/order of things, and I am sure you're not alone.I'm sure these siphons work pretty well for many other applications, but I only use them for siphoning gas from my gas cans into my vehicles and they work great for that purpose.

Works great - a couple of recommendations
I tested this device out on some water I had and with just a half dozen shakes the water was flowing quickly from one container to the next. I have found other similar devices on Amazon. It's too bad they don't just sell the copper part so that you could make your own hose.A couple of suggestions:1. The hose is only six feet long which will not be long enough in some situations. You may want to have some extra hose and attachments so that you can make this hose longer.(see bottom note)2. The plastic hose is not labeled as food grade. It smells a bit and I'd prefer a better grade plastic when I move drinking water.3. Again I'd like them to just sell the copper part and let the consumer make their own hose to length.Tip - the hose is curled up and doesn't want to uncurl easily - you may need an extra person to hold one end of the hose.Note - I bought a hose repair kit for a 5/8 inch fitting and was able to add it to the end of this hose after sticking it in very hot water. Now I can add a hose to this product and have more options for moving liquids.

Really saves you time
I have always dreaded pouring gasoline out of my 5 gallon gas cans. Most of the time they leak and are very slow do to CARB regulations. I have never used siphon pumps before so after doing some research, I decided to give this a try. I would like to say this has made emptying my gas containers a breeze and I don't spill a drop. I don't have to hold a 30-40lb "weight" and wait like what seems forever for the the gas to dribble out of the CARB compliant nozzle. The instructions are easy to follow and all you really need to do is make sure your source container is above whatever it is you are trying to fill. Then you just sit back and wait until you are done. I can empty my 5 gallon gas can in about two minutes. Before this, it was easily double the amount of time. The quality of the hose is very good. It's nice and thick, not flimsy. It also does not kink easily and has a copper end with a glass marble inside. When the siphon is working you can hear the marble clicking (it's really spinning). I definitely would recommend this for anyone that has a lot of fluid to transfer. I have tested this using water, gasoline, motor oil (5W30/10W30), and ATF fluid and it works great!!
