If you're having an issue with reloading the trimmer wire, the bump head just spins, or it only takes in a short bit before quitting. Definitely purchase this item. I made the mistake of just buying the bump head replacement part as that, by the reviews, seemed to me to be what I needed to fix the problem. While I was able to reload a complete trim wire once with that part, it failed immediately after that. This is the real deal. If I can get 4-5 years out of this, like I did with the original equipment, it will have been worth the extra cost.

This will fit on the ST1620 Auto Line IQ 16" String trimmers. I can confirm.The motor shaft on the ST1620 still has the groove for the c-clip so you can install this kit to convert your Line IQ to a Bump Feed trimmer. No modification needed. Just remove your Line IQ head and install this.

Easy installation after watching youtube video.. had dismantled old head while waiting for this one that came with c clamp clip and string. Simply followed the steps and now my old favorite weedeater is working and instead of spraying for weeds I now get them at the root. Saved me the price of a new string trimmer. Trimmer works and trimmer ability restored with 14 feet of string.

My ego string trimmer is from 2/21 model # ST1520s .I think that the product could use some more photos of what exactly comes in this kit.I didn’t know that it came with circlip pliers. I ended up using just the top part and spring but it was nice to have everything if I needed it.

Works pretty good , sometimes the line gets stuck in there but I have started using a different brand of line and that has seemed to help but other than that it’s a great replacement

To those complaining about replacing head often. There are several you tubes on cleaning head. I would suggest trying that first. Tools you will need is a 13 mm ratchet and an adjustable rubber belt kind oil filter wrench if you do not have really strong hands like me. That being said after two years I did have to replace the head. Took like 15 minutes to read instructions and get new one on. But I question why the string that came with new head is about 6 ft longer and thinner than the pre wound EGO trimmer line I purchase off Amazon also. The pre wound rolls I purchased say .095 but are much stiffer and slightly bigger in circumference. I think the pre wound handles bigger tougher weeds while what came with the new head is just ok for regular grass trimming and edging but I do have my doubts about it being .095. I will have to compare at my big box store and update review if I find out for sure.

My EGO string trimmer, which I love, ceased loading the trimmer line. It tried but the string would not load. This new powerhead solved the problem. It was easy enough to replace and once done it was its old self again!

This fixed the problem of string not coiling up to head and feeder string not working
