I had an instance and due to too big a gap I put the baseboard on as is and put a 3/4 by 1/4 strip at the bottom all around the room and it was flexable to push down to make up the gap and looked just like part of the base board. **Q: Can they be connected together to make it longer if need be?** A: NO, they are individual of each other. **Q: I need one to fit under a 1/2 inch gap between a door casing and floor. Will this?** A: These are 3/4 inch thick so it won't work but the cheap metal ones are less than 1/2 inch thick but they don't last long if you use them a lot.
