I like it.
Camera was easy to set up. Good quality picture and the camera is very solid. The picture quality is 50% crispier on the cell phone. This was snapped off my desktop. When uploading latest frame ware for the initial setup, do not interrupt it because the camera will shut off and power down. I could not get power to it till I plugged the USB end into my computer to get it going again. Then I was able to plug it back into the wall outlet and finish the setup. I have not had any issues since. Good camera and intimidating.

Nice form factor, easy to install, options for recording
I use this to watch my front porch and street with a wide-angle view. The magnetic ball mount makes it easy to adjust the position. There is an option to record to the D-Link cloud or by using internal microSD storage. I find that the motion detection picks up 90% of events, but it sometimes misses obvious ones which I do not find in my locally stored record. Sometimes the WiFi connection is lost in below freezing weather and a reboot or sometimes reset is necessary. This unit looks well sealed against weather generally. The phone app is very useful for managing a network of such cameras.

Peace of mind
The sensitivity needs to improve for both motion and sound.

Outdoor camera? Yes and no
I purchased this for use outside, as its an outdoor rated camera. Ive set it up and it works as expected. HOWever the Power Supply is an Indoor USB plug adapter, I'm pretty sure I can still make it work as my outdoor outlet has a deep enclosure.Supposedly there's an d-link indoor/outdoor extension plug that makes this a true Outdoor camera. But good luck finding it. Ill update this, after D-link answers my email (if they actually answer).(DCS-8600LH/LT-US)(Update) Upon contacting D-link customer service, they have sent me the Outdoor rated power adapter extension cable. I really cant say how it stands up outdoors yet.

Poor Wifi connectivity.
As an outdoor camera you will likely be disappointed as the Wifi is feeble. It practically requires line of sight to, and be within 20 feet of the router, or it will not connect to Wifi. Even with a strong Wifi signal (-60 dBm) it struggles to connect. Perhaps another firmware update will remedy, but out of box (v1.04) plus one firmware update to (v1.06.01) it struggles to connect if it connects at all.

Mounting method is not good.
Good picture quality very poor mounting method.

Steer away if you are an old time D-Link faithful!
I bought this camera as I have accumulated various generations of D-Link wifi cameras. I just prefer to stay with one App to view all my cameras around my property. Guess what? It is is single biggest mistake I have made with D-Link and I truly feel I am betrayed. To make things simple, I would just list the major product defects:1) Extension cable is not included. There is no way you can hook it up and use outdoor with the short USB included. It should be a crime to market it as an 'Outdoor' camera.2) It can only work on 'MyDlink' app. Not 'MyDlink Lite' or 'MyDlink+'. 'MyDlink' app only work on iOS or Android. If you have poor eyesight like me that must use tablet to watch the monitor video and by any chance you also like me only own Amazon Fire Tablet. Then you are in bad luck as 'MyDlink' app does not support Amazon Fire OS. Amazon really should fire D-Link in putting such product for sales in total ignorance of all Amazon Fire tablet users.3) There is no option you can log in via web browser interface to do all the fine setting like all the previous generations of D-Link cameras. The limited control on the 'MyDlink' app is a complete joke that can barely do you any good. The biggest problem that fails the whole purpose for my to purchase this camera is there is no way you can use 'scheduled' recording but only 'PIR trigger'. Worse yet, each PIR triggered clip lasts only about 5 seconds. So if you install it on the high traffic area, then it will just throw you tons of chopped short clips. In the old 'scheduled' recording. If I found something going on around certain period of time. I can just download all the recorded video clips and quickly browse through to locate what I need to see. It is just no way you can do it with the 'PIR trigger' way. I am clearly aware nowadays most other cameras are also marketed as 'motion detection'. But that is one way to get around to conserve energy when using rechargeable battery or solar. If the main selling point of this camera is it is wired. Then the constant recording option should be available because power is no issue and that is what the microSD slot is for.4) The support on PC web browser is just as terrible. When you log in, you will be forced to choose which 'Portal' you want to view. You will need to switch back and forth to use the old version to view your old cameras and use the new portal view this new camera. I might as well to purchase another vendor' camera to make this selection clearer and less confusing.5) To put the final insult. With such big housing the so-called 2-way microphone is puny and can hardly be heard over just a few feet away. There will be no way you can call the attention to deter any intentional intruder. As an old time D-Link faithful. I am really sorry to see D-Link is going downhill in such pathetic way. I truly believe this camera can only be an adopted one as D-Link is too lazy or too poor to develop a really decent product. If you are holding any D-Link stockes, dump them and run away. If you are searching for any network product. Steer away and don't look back. This company is going to be extinct very soon and you will have big problem to get any support. If not because I want to avoid trip to cramped UPS store during this pandemic. I will pack it and throw it back to D-Link right away. For now I will just unplug it and put the packing box on my front yard as stepping stone. It is what it is, cheap and useless like dirt. Do yourself a favor not to put your finger on it. It will only make you feel sick.

recorded movie is choppy
My DCS-8600LH firmware is upto date. All recorded movies (less than 1 min) are choppy and seems "lose frame rate" even I use a a fast SD card (sandisk said it is up to 90MB/s write). Also, the actual movie length does not matched the one shown when playback, feel very disappionted.
