Having had the chance to play several games with the Onyx pickleball paddle, here's my comprehensive feedback: Construction & Durability: One of the first things you notice about the Onyx paddle is its robust build. Weight: Onyx paddles usually come in a range of weights, catering to different player preferences. Whether you prefer a lightweight for quicker maneuvers or a slightly heavier one for power shots, Onyx likely has a variant to suit your style. This minimizes the chances of the paddle slipping during those intense moments, a critical feature for maintaining consistency in your game. I got good power from this paddle. And it makes a loud crack when you get a solid hit. Which kids intimidates your appointment .

The rating is more like 4.5/ 5. I have been using this paddle for about 3 months now (4-5 times a week) and it has held up pretty well. It is well constructed. This paddle suits my game as it has the right balance of power, spin and control. It has a large sweet spot and the shots have been consistent. While, I would have liked more control in the doubles game, the slight extra power in lieu of control helps while playing singles. I hope this paddle lasts long enough. Overall, this is a great all-round paddle for newbies, intermediate players and possibly even the more advanced players.

As a more than beginner player, I felt that my game was being limited by the inexpensive beginner paddle that I learned and was playing with. I decided it was time for an upgrade to a more serious paddle to improve my game. I did a ton of research of the now seemingly thousands of paddles available these days. Through all of my research , the Onix Z5 paddle seemed to consistently be one of the top rated paddles on the market at that price point. So I decided to buy it and wowsa! Did it make a difference in my game! After a short learning curve getting used to the new paddle, I found out a lot of what I’d been missing; control, spin; top and back-spin, accuracy , and serving improved by leaps and bounds and after a month or so of play I’ve gone from the one nobody was psyched to play with to the one that people want to play with. The paddle is mid weight, thin, but feels light. The only issue I had was that the grip was a bit small for my hand so I bought some over-wrap tape and double overlapped the grip to build it up a bit. Man what a difference! I can see myself playing with this paddle for quite some time until I take the next step up in my game. For now the Onix Z5 is definitely the paddle of choice for me!

I was very pleased with the quality and price of this paddle. I bought it for my husband who just recently started playing. I have the same paddle and it has lasted me over 10 years.

I am so happy with this paddle that it drove me to write my first review, ever. Some players will find the right paddle for themselves with their very first purchase. Many others, like me, are not so fortunate. In my case, it was paddle no. 5 that did the trick. I tried paddles from Gamma, Head and Selkirk. All were good paddles but just not right for me. As I found out, finding the paddle that is best for you can be very challenging. The paddle I love may very well not be to your liking at all. However, it was the Onix Z5 Mod that turned out to be the one for me. The information provided by the manufacturer states these paddles can weigh anywhere between 7.5 - 8.2 ounces. Mine came in at 7.5. I liked that the light weight would help with control and accuracy, but I was concerned that it might come at the cost of a loss of power. Imagine my delight when using it for the first time, I found that it was superb on accuracy and quite adequate on power. I have only been playing for 5 months but this paddle has definitely improved my game, especially on placing the ball where I want it to go. I originally found the handle to be a bit too short for me at 5 inches, as I prefer 5.25 inches, but I am now playing so much better, I no longer care about the paddle length. Also, this paddle has quite a loud "pop" when you hit that sweet spot. Some love that sound and some do not. I love it, so that was just a plus for me. My wife and I each play with an Onix Z5 Mod and have 1 extra as a back-up. I wish you all good luck in finding the paddle that is just right for you.

Je le suis dirigé vers cette raquette, car elle est ressortait souvent dans les meilleurs pagaies de sa catégorie. D'abord la finissions est vraiment très tres médiocre au niveau du manche. Pour le jeu, elle est, pour moi, beaucoup trop sèche et manque de touchée. Je débute en pickleball, mais j apprécie les sensation plus "mouelleuse", et privilégie le touché à la puissance. Cette pagaie n est pas faite pour moi.

Delivery was in 3 days- amazing. Bought 2 to have a matching set with my spouse. We both enjoy the larger sweet spot which gives a very satisfying sound. Control for spins is better than our previous paddles and helps our game. Good paddle that our friends liked when they tried it too.

I am new to pickleball so I did a lot of research on paddles and decided to go with the OnixZ5. There was lots of positive reviews and decided to take a chance . I have been using the paddle for a month now an really love how the paddle handles. It’s weight is perfect for control shots and no problem getting extra power on my serves when I need it. If your just starting out in pickleball I would strongly suggest looking at this paddle. Its reasonably priced, has a big sweet spot and found the handle very comfortable.

Bought this based on a bit of research. Im new to pickleball so i had a limited knowledge and experience of was actually looking for! So far it’s been good though and as I've got more used to it I’ve been very happy with my purchase as a new player. No complaints so far and i’d recommend to others searching for their first paddle.
