Does what it says
Looks good, easy to use, but only had one heat transfer pad ( the instructions said there were two) had to buy a second pad. Got very hot when transferring a lot of data but didn't fail. It should work to clone drives with samsung magician as the make of the inserted memory card is shown.

Great Value and Speed, with Minor Heat Considerations
Picked up this ORICO M.2 NVMe enclosure to turn an old SSD into some fast portable storage, and I’ve been pretty happy with it overall.Setup was simple – no tools needed, just pop it open, slide the SSD in, and snap it shut. The included thermal pad is a nice touch to help with heat, though the snap-on design can feel a little fiddly. Took a minute to get it just right, but nothing frustrating.Performance is solid. I'm getting close to 900MB/s transfer speeds, which is great for quick file backups or editing video files off the drive. Definitely way faster than the old USB 3.0 drives I was using. It’s compact, looks sleek, and comes with both USB-C and USB-A cables, so you can use it with just about any device – laptop, desktop, even a Steam Deck or Android phone with OTG.Only downside is that it gets a bit warm during heavy transfers. Not dangerously hot, but something to keep in mind if you're moving a lot of data back-to-back.All in all, a great value for the price. If you’ve got a spare NVMe drive and want a fast, portable storage solution, this little ORICO enclosure does the job nicely.

Used this to clone working OS onto a new NVMe M2 SSD
Upgraded my M2 P1 Crucial 500 GB to a 1M2 TB Samsung 970 EVO using this M2 NVMe to USB converter. You can use Samsung Magician, which is free to use, if both drives are from Samsung. Same goes with Crucials' app.In my case, i was going from a Crucial to a Samsung drive. Cant use either app to clone. I had to use Acronis.I used the 2020 Acronis version for current March 1st 2023 build of winblows. Worked.Once you install your M2 SSD into this enclosure you need to go into disk management and initialize the disk so your winblows can see it and work with it. Till then your winblows wont see it at all even though the task manager has the icon to remove this device.I hit the silicone lottery jackpot and this thing saw both my drives. Some chips are weird and only will work with certain hardware even though they state they work with certain protocols.Very cool looking clear see through drive. Well made. The only thing i can see not last is the plastic sliding cover. I think the tabs locking the cover in place will eventually wear down. If you do not open and close this thing all the time you won have to worry. If you do then you are going to have to deal with a sliding cover that wont lock. Nothing a little bit of electrical tape wont fix though. The adapter came with 2 cables even though the manual only states it comes with one. You get a USB C to USB 3 and a USB C to USB C.This thing also comes with a M2 Standoff as well as the tiny screw and you get a cool little screw driver. The actual case this thing comes in is quite handy as well. Going to keep it. I am talking about the physical cardboard box. Inside you get the plastic "housing" that stores the drive. I am not goign to chuck that and keep it.You wont be disappointed with this thing.

Easy to use, but no locking mechanism for cover
Bough this as I needed to clone a drive image to a few m.2 drives and this was the most cost effective solution. Housing looks great and does the job. Unfortunately the housing is not held together very well, just clipped together like the battery cover of a TV remote. There is no securing or locking screws or tabs. I am happy to use this housing when at a desk but would prefer something sturdier for travelling or using it outside.

Worked perfectly, cloned drive in minutes.
Used to upgrade 128GB SSD drive to 500GB drive. (that's more than I need.)Plugged into laptop, used Crucial cloning software and had a fully working larger drive in minutes.Worked perfectly and I can store it away and use it again for when I want to upgrade another laptop in the future.

Flimsy but did the job
Bought this to clone my 1tb ssd drive onto a 2tb ssd. It feels very cheap and plasticy however it worked flawlessly

Does not work correctly under MacOS BigSur
I would leave more stars for the design and build of this item but I bought this specifically to house a 1TB NVMe SSD drive for our iMac to use as a TimeMachine Drive. In Disk Utility the drive initially showed as 2x 1TB partitions. I tried to delete the 'extra' partition but a third was added.I tried to completely erase the drive but to no avail. It was then displayed with 3x 1TB partitions.I think the hardware may need a firmware update to work with APFS formatted drives correctly.I am unable to comment on its performance in Windows / Linux. YMMV.Having said all the above the item is nice in design and easy to use although it is advertised as not requiring tools but you do have to screw the SSD to the board inside which negates it's description.I purchased a Sabrent case (ASIN B08RVC6F9Y) which worked straight away when plugged in. This is a truly tool-free enclosure with a much higher build quality.
