I love love love Quest bars for their nutritional and protein content, but most of the flavors are so cloyingly sweet, I can't deal with them on a regular basis. This is why I keep on coming back to the Lemon Cake flavor. It's still sweet, but not overly so. It doesn't have any coating, for one. (The "drizzle" on top of the bar is just part of the shape.) And rather than "chocolaty" chips, it's got pieces of crust-like stuff, to mimic a cake I suppose. I eat Quest bars often. Usually one a day, either for breakfast or a snack. Very handy to keep in my purse or luggage, more filling than one would expect. I love the protein kick as well. I would LOVE if Quest made more bars in this vein, instead of trying to replicate the latest chocolate-coconut-fudge-cookie dough concoction to go viral on Instagram. Gingersnap flavor, maybe? Better than most of the other questions bars I've had. Usually they have a taffy consistency this was not that. It says only 180 calories but it seemed like I was eating more. It's very high fiber content is great (13 grams).

Normally I get Quest bars but recently I tried Pure Protein brand, which is what I'll be using as a comparison for this review. Lemon Cake is my favorite fruit flavor, so I got the same in both brands. I have a protein bar with a glass of milk after my workouts or sometimes on rest days around lunchtime in lieu of a meal. With the packages side by side, they look similar in size, but after opening, the Pure Protein bar is visibly smaller than Quest. A box of 12 was also cheaper than Quest, which is why I decided to try it. The glaze is drizzled over the Quest bar while Pure Protein is completely dipped, which accounts for the added sweetness (and sugar on the nutrition label). I'd say it's almost like a sweet lemon candy, while the Quest bar is more cakey. Both are nice and light tasting - easy to eat with good lemon flavor. Both have the same amount of protein, so I guess it comes down to the other ingredients as far as what is preferable. Quest has less calories, cholesterol, calcium, potassium, and sugar, but more sodium, fiber, and carbs. Overall I didn't really like one much more than the other, so I think I'll keep buying both brands and just switching between the two. Other flavors I enjoy from Quest are the Double Chocolate Chunk and Apple Pie. The cookie flavors aren't bad either. I don't really understand the price differences and sometimes they cost more, so I try to get whatever is a bit less expensive since trying to eat healthy adds up fast. They are great, and definitely a repeat!

This is by far my favorite protein bar I've tried. It does not have any synthetic taste at all like some. It really does taste like a light lemon cake and not too sweet. I also like the macros on this, low on sugar, 4 net carbs and 20 g of protein. A little pricey but if you can find them on sale from time to time, they are worth the buy.

Your only goal is to pass this as lemon flavor and failed That’s all I wanted more then anything

Delicious I usually have the Raspberry ones, lemon is a favorite flavour of mine. This did not disappoint me I will repurchase when I run out, Great value as well individually the Rasp. that I buy are $4.99 plus tax these were cheaper

Leckerer Riegel mit leichter Zitronennote Schmeckt überraschend gut – zwar merkt man eine leichte künstliche Note, aber insgesamt ist der Geschmack angenehm und nicht zu süß. Der Riegel macht gut satt und eignet sich perfekt als Snack nach dem Training oder für zwischendurch.
