Wrong product twice
The first time I ordered a fire exit sign from this company, I thought I had just ordered the wrong one, but after the second time, it is clearly just a scheme by the Seller to rip people off. It wouldn't be a big deal if the generic rip off had the same features as the one listed. It doesn't, no remote lamp hook up and also feels like cheap trash

Dissappointing battery tech...
I got this because I thought it would be "state of the art" (ok, I know, it's an exit sign...I'm a geek. Guilty as charged.) And the nice, bright LED lights indeed are the most modern lighting technology available. So HALF of it his pretty high-tech.However, the backup battery that powers it when the power goes out? It's literally a AA Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) battery. I started racing R/C cars in, oh, it must have been around 1987. In 1987, the 7.2 volt 1200mAh NiCd battery was the standard. In 1987. That was...oh...36 years ago.My MODERN R/C car uses a 3S LiPo that's good for around 3600mAh, if memory serves. It has TRIPLE the available energy that my NiCd battery had 36 years ago. And it weighs LESS.There are so many improved rechargeable battery chemistry advancements in the last 35+ years that, I'm being dead serious and honest here, I didn't think NiCd batteries were still MADE. Apparently they are...perhaps JUST for this sign, I don't know. There are so many choices for batteries, they could have built a light with a runtime of 8+ hours, rather than 1.5. And man...calling it QUANTUM...and then putting NiCd's in it? That's just "over the top" marketing. I would have called it "Lithonia Basic LED emergency exit light". If it comes with NiCd, it's just "basic" I might even call it "aged".Even NiMh would have been preferable. Something with less of a memory effect. NiCd's are HORRIBLE in this type of usage, because they stay charged ALL THE TIME. NiCd's don't LIKE to be charged all the time, the longer you keep them at 100% charge, the lower the total capacity will be. So the runtime of this sign can ONLY degrade over time because of the battery choice. NiCd batteries like to be charged ALL THE WAY, then they like to be DISCHARGED...ALL THE WAY. It's what made them perfect for RC cars. They don't like to be charged and left.NiMh would be preferable here. LiPo would be preferable here. LiFePO4 would be preferable here.I just...can't express enough how poor a choice NiCd batteries are here. 20, 25 years ago? Ok. After, like, 2015? You don't put a NiCd battery in a product and name it "QUANTUM!", just like you don't put lawnmower engine in a Corvette and call it a "super performance package".Fact of the matter is, because a lot of these probably sat around on shelves with their NiCd batteries in conditions they don't like to be in is probably a main reason these lights have such poor quality reviews from other reviewers. As someone who's pretty well versed in battery tech, I would put $10 on "failed battery" being their top warranty repair. If they DO warranty repair. Perhaps Lithonia would care to chime in on this?Seriously, guys. You shouldn't put 1987 battery tech behind 2020 light tech. It's bad enough we still use lead acid in cars (ugh). Cut this model off at the knees and re-design it using more modern battery technology. At LEAST go NiMh. Less of a memory effect, they don't mind being charged all the time as much as NiCd. But honestly? The best battery for this application is LiFePO4 (#1) and LiPo (#2).LiFePO4 is the #1 choice, because 1: It doesn't mind staying 100% charged all the time, 2: it doesn't mind deep-discharge, which is exactly the conditions this light provides. Charged all the time, deep discharged occasionally. LiFePO4 LOVES that.LiPo should be the 2nd choice, only because of energy density. It works well being charged 100% of the time, but LiPo doesn't tolerate deep discharges well, so there will always be a "cutoff circuit" that will limit runtime lest the battery discharge too far and become damaged. But LiPo COULD be used, and you could still triple or quadruple the runtime EASILY with production costs that aren't far off these. As a basic exit light, it's barely adequate. A more advanced battery would mean more longevity from a fixture that's expected to be low-maintenance and long-lasting. As it stands, knowing what I know about battery technology, I expect the NiCd battery to last only a few years (if that long) before it begins to give problems. Update this when you release "QUANTUM 2.0! Now, with QUANTUM BATTERY TECHNOLOGY! 5x the runtime of previous models! Fewer battery failures!" Until then, I'd pick this up only if you can't find something better.

Working well for us
- Wall or ceiling mountSturdy enough build. Clean look. We've had no outage to test that part but by the test button, the emergency lights work.We have several other lighting items from this brand and we've been happy with all of them. I'll update if anything hinky comes up but I have confidence this will work as well as all the others do.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many everyday things you buy will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice at no cost to you. Missing Parts & Instructions
We received this exit sign, but it was missing the mounting pieces and the instructions and appeared to have been re-shipped from someone else's returned order. Disappointing.
