Review: One Star - We were supposed to receive the materials by March 9th but we have received it on 2nd April.
Review: Eventually, the better performance becomes worth the price. - I had used the cheap sharpie alternative for years on small home based projects for years and that was sufficient most of the time for quick jobs. But recently when I was doing hand work on some titanium parts, the slow progress and frequent handling to test fit as I was working made the need for the proper product very apparent. Although not overly expensive for regular repeated use, Dykem for infrequent home use does seem a bit pricey. But when you need it, there is a huge difference in using the product designed for the purpose. The markings stand out so much better. But more importantly, the markings remain undisturbed while handling. Sure, you'll get extra marks from working on the part but the coating doesn't just rub off so your original marks are still usable. The little 2 oz. daubers were hard to find and seeing others comment on spillage was concerning. For home use, I would love to see this offered in a little 1 oz nail polish sixed bottle with applicator. I may try to find some empty bottles and do it myself for long term storage of my still nearly full 4 oz bottle.

**Q: What do use to thin it? It's a little too thick for my needs.**
A: I have had good results from a small amount of denatured alcohol.

**Q: is this the stuff used to mark the engraved sizes on sockets and wrenches ?**
A: No, layout fluid is used to temporarily die metal stock so the desired pattern can be marked for cutting/drilling.

**Q: Is it safe to use on brass cartridge casings?**
A: I believe it is how ever it will stain alminium

**Q: Will this gum up fine tooth TC burs or grinding burs? I'm looking for something as close to "hitting it with a sharpie" as possible.**
A: Have used this item for years with no negative effects. Was universally used in a machine shop I was associated with that also did grinding and welding. Paint it on. Let it dry. Scribe a line and it works. Is why I bottle for a home project. Brush to apply is in the container. Easy peasy!
