It has a smooth finish which I thought was going to be a problem with slipping in my hands, however I was wrong about that.It takes standard Parker refills so you have a lot of options there which is nice. I've used Parker brand as well as cheap knockoffs and they all have worked.My only gripe is the clip which works on shirt pockets but it too narrow to easily attach to pant pockets.
