Does the 500 amp model have pure 100% copper wire or is it aluminum wire that is copper coated? Look at wire end for silver color in center of wire.

Does it work with agm and gell batteries?

Yes, I use it on a 28V lithium battery pack. It have pushed it to 350A. It has 3 voltage ranges 6,12,24. At 24 it will go up to 30V.

As far as model 1874(500 amp). when i search the web there r lots that look same as this but made by other companies? is one better than the other?

I purchase mine for my automobile business and we use it every day and has been working just fine for over a year know.

Will it load test 8v golf cart battery?

I thought golf cart batteries were 24V. That it will do. But I don't seen any reason why it can't do a 8V battery in 12V mode. It would still display the voltage and current.
