Works. Would Buy Again if Needed
I picked one of these up for a Gen 1 X1 Carbon I got for free so that I could output video on my monitor. This one was pretty cheap(although not the cheapest option). The adapter feels solid like its good quality. I haven't tried it at 4k because I dont have a 4k monitor but it definitely outputs a higher resolution than 1080p. I would buy this again if I needed another adapter.

Nice quality, easy to use, works as intended.
Does exactly what it says it does. It does get a bit warm which is a little alarming.

Delivered next day and worked flawlessly for a 2 hour presentation . I would recommend this unit.

Reliable 4K@60Hz on Thunderbolt 2 Macs — with an interesting twist
I’ve been using the IVANKY 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter on a 2013 Mac Pro (Thunderbolt 2), and it does exactly what it claims. It delivers a true, stable 4K@60Hz signal to an HDMI monitor, with proper macOS display control and no flickering or connection issues. This adapter is widely considered one of the most reliable ways to run modern HDMI monitors on Thunderbolt 1 & 2 Macs, and based on my experience, that reputation is well deserved. With this adapter, the Mac Pro recognizes the display correctly, scaling behaves as expected, and the system feels smooth and predictable. If your goal is a rock-solid 4K@60Hz setup on older Thunderbolt Macs, this adapter is a safe and proven choice. That said, I also experimented with a FUERAN HDMI EDID Emulator Adapter (4K), and it produced some surprising results. Using the EDID emulator, I was able to run the same HDMI monitor at 120Hz on the 2013 Mac Pro — something that is not normally possible. This appears to be related to how the emulator presents the display’s capabilities to macOS. One important note: when using higher refresh rates or nonstandard display modes, holding the Option key at boot is essential. This allows macOS to properly enumerate available resolutions and avoids the common issue of ultra-high-resolution modes producing extremely tiny, unreadable UI elements. Bottom line: • The IVANKY adapter is an excellent, dependable solution for 4K@60Hz on Thunderbolt 2 Macs. • The EDID emulator offers interesting flexibility for advanced users, but requires more tweaking and awareness of macOS display behavior. If you want reliability and simplicity, IVANKY is the way to go. If you enjoy experimenting and pushing older hardware further, pairing an adapter with an EDID emulator can unlock additional options.

Decent quality adapters for the 4K60hz. Gold plated connections to resist corrosion.
Works good and has gold plated connections. This is a good value for the 4K@60hz. I'm using this for pc to tv, with HDMI cable in between.

Superior customer service
Customer service was amazing. I purchased this adapter of a Mac Mini. It did not work for me but it was not the fault of the adapter. My old Mac Mini does not support 4 K through the Thunderbolt 1 connection. When I contacted them, they responded in less than 24 hrs and gave me a full refund. Very impressive!

Works to connect a 2013 Mac Pro at 4K60Hz via HDMI to an LG TV with some settings tweaks
Worked to connect my 2013 "Trash Can" Mac Pro 6,1 to my new 55" LG C5 OLED TV - but I had to change some settings on the TV. I had to turn on HDMI Deep Color in General > External Devices > HDMI Deep Color > 4K to make the Mac operate at 60Hz. Gets a little warm, but has been working reliably.

Hooray for Aftermarket the Plays Well with Macs!
I have a fairly ancient Macbook Air that is on the cusp of being unsupported or may already be unsupported. It has a weird array of ports. The Mini Display Port is among the weirdest, because it never really was compatible with anything, even before the computer went obsolete. Mac doesn’t make a connector for my computer that will work with HDMI, so then it’s up to you to go with an aftermarket solution, which is usually an iffy prospect with a Mac. But hot damn! This IVANKY 4K solution works great! I had to use it to give a presentation, and much to my delight, it didn’t crap out right in the middle of it like so many other aftermarket peripherals have in the past. The little connector also comes with perfectly fitting plugs for each end so the thing doesn’t get gunked up between uses, and it comes in its own handy, resealable pouch. Best of all: The price is right! (A Mac version of this thing would have cost like $75—greedy putzes…). What’s not to like? I recommend! Highly!
