MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS Motherboard ATX - Ryzen 3rd Gen, AM4, DDR4, PCIe4

Bought this board based on the roundup review of B550 motherboards by Hardware Unboxed on Youtube. It was consistently at the top of the charts for VRM efficiency and capability and passed all the tests running an overclocked 3950x. I've paired this board with a 5950x I got a deal on. It works flawlessly, passed all stress tests. This is with PBO on. Consistent Cinebench multi score of around 28,000+ which is about in line and I don't plan to overclock manually. Base system: MSI B550 Gaming Plus R9 5950x 32GB DDR4 3600 Ram RTX 4070ti Highly recommend this board. I've only knocked one star off for install due to it refusing to post initially. I assumed it was because of CPU incompatibility out of the box so attempted to use the bios flashback utility but couldn't get it to work for some reason. It could well have been an error from me but fairly certain I followed all the instructions. As a last resort I re-seated the ram and it posted. No problems since then, not entirely sure why it wouldn't post initially, everything was installed as it should, RAM in the optimised slots. But hey ho. It is a capable and affordable board.

Great motherboard paired with ryzen 9 5900x worked straight away without having to flash the bios. I have the sapphire pure radeon rx 9070 xt which also works great. Cons: No built in WiFi but you get two extra usb ports. The Lan port is only 1GB instead of 2.5GB.

It's a great board should you want to fit pieces together, be warned. If you wish to use the bottom NVME SSD slot which is only gen 3 also I believe, you will loose access to the 2nd PCIE slot (It's only PCIE3 anyways I believe) Also if you have the rgb lights on the board you loose functionality of one of the front usb's on your case. Other then that does all you expect, also noticed it has a less aggressive fan curve then my old MSI GAMING PLUS MAX X470. All round great board should you be taking advantage of price drops of "previous gen"

Still kicking after over a year! I use Signal for the RGB now and have switched out the CPU after several bios updates and this board still kicks!

This is a brilliant MB and I can fully recommend it, it was a bit fiddly connecting the header wires but that was more to do with my case, Installed Windows in minutes. watch out for the header pins as they are not marked on the motherboard! Best go online at MSi as the manual does not show this clearly but really no other problems, everything works but I've heard that if you use the ARGB the USB3 header stops working!

Ótima placa, já tenho ela a uns 3 anos , chegou em perfeito estado, rápida entrega e ta perfeita até hoje. Quem for comprar lembre-se, esse modelo não possui Wi-Fi e nem Bluetooth.

J’ai installé un Ryzen 5 5600X, et tout a fonctionné parfaitement dès le premier démarrage. ✅ Qualité de fabrication : Très bonne finition, radiateurs VRM efficaces et un PCB renforcé qui inspire confiance pour une longue durée de vie. ✅ Connectivité au top : 4 slots RAM jusqu’à 128 Go en 4400 MHz (OC) 2 slots M.2 (dont 1 en PCIe 4.0 pour les SSD ultra-rapides) 6 ports SATA, plusieurs USB 3.2 et un port Ethernet 2.5GbE Sortie audio et connecteurs bien placés pour un bon cable management ✅ Performances solides : La gestion de l’alimentation (VRM 10+2) est stable, même en overclocking modéré.
