I bought these for my motorcycle, so me and my son could throw them in the saddle bag a go fishing. They are the best investment I have made. They are better than some of my nicer fishing poles. They are high quality, durable and portable. Everything I wanted. I highly recommend these. Would definitely buy again.

Overall its a decent product for casual use. I see that its a bit cheaper than when I originally purchased so its probably more worth it now. This is a great product if you're looking for a collapsable rod that you can place into your backpack and bring out casually for trips. Also a great rod for kids or introducing fishing to new individuals. This is not a great solution if you're looking for something collapsable to replace your current regular set up. I was able to catch a fish on the reel, but it feels like a toy compared to my standard ones and is nowhere near as smooth. It's also starting to show some wear even after a few uses.After traveling with in my backpack, one of the eyes started to bend and broke off even when using the tip protector that was provided. The material connecting the eyes to the rod is very thin and ends easily. Luckily Plusinno offers great customer service and were very responsive and ended up sending me a replacement for the rod. Which I still carry with me but wrap the end of the rod with an extra layer of protection.If you're looking for a collapsable rod you can carry with you on trips to fish spontaneously, this rod will work. I recommended swapping the reel if you want to upgrade this collapsable rod.

I fish both saltwater and freshwater and was looking for an excellent travel rod and reel combo that I could keep in the car that would not break the bank. This affordable combo fit the bill perfectly. I already have a Plusinno BE4000 and use it surf fishing and have caught a 20+ lb stingray and many other fish and love it. The drag on the BE4000 is smooth and more than adequate, and the reel is incredibly smooth. It's a great lightweight rig on a 7ft medium-heavy rod.This reel is just as smooth and a joy to fish as the BE4000 just a bit smaller. It has a decent drag and a surprisingly smooth retrieve. I primarily use this combo for freshwater pond fishing, and it does not disappoint. It is also great for catching whiting and pompano at the beach.The 7.87ft rod is excellent in getting lures out far and sufficiently handles largemouth bass without overpowering them. Not sure about bigger catfish, but for bass and bluegill – it works great! It is fun to fish, and as I always have it with me. With this always on hand, I simply fish more! I see a pond and I can get a few casts in. This is great when you have a few minutes to fish. This handy compact, telescopic rig fits easily in a small suitcase, bag, or under/behind your seat. You can also easily take it with you while riding a bike. It's a great option when lugging a bulky rod is not practical.I'd say it's definitely worth the money and I would buy again and may get another to have in each car. If you ever drive by a pond and wish you had a reel to get in a few quick casts, this is the ticket.Have fun, fish more, and live a little! Stay safe!

I will start with the reel since that will be the shortest part of this review. I have yet to find fault in the reels that I have bought from Plusinno and this reel is not the exception. Quality of the materials and workmanship I have found to be outstanding. Especially for the price. The reel has worked flawlessly and I am sure it will continue to do so just like all of the others. And i know that Plussino stands by its products. So I just plain do not worry.Now about the rod. Once again the quality and workmanship are above par. The rod has extended and retracted with no problems and holds up to its intended purpose. No problems. I let my girlfriend use it as well and she liked the rod. The only problem we found is that this rod is better suited for people with smaller hands than we have and she has small hands. The problem is the handle. It is small for adult hands. But it is also the right size for somebody that is moving up from the child size rods into their first adult rod. Perfect size. So if your kid is in that range where an adult rod's handle is still to large but the kids handle is too small then this is the perfect rod for them. They will find it comfortable and easy to control. Since the quality of the rod is of such high standard it will surely last them well into buying another rod when they are ready for a larger size.

I like that this telescoping rod/reel is easy to use, fits nicely in the car for "emergency fishing" opportunities, casts well, and has a smooth drag/retrieval.I loaded it with 30 lb braided line (roughly like 10 lb mono for capacity) and it came in handy yesterday when I had one of those emergencies. I need to restock my small tackle box tho, to make sure the lures are heavy enough to throw the line "out there" with the way I have it set up.What I don't like, and reduced a 4 star review to a 3 star, is the quality control on assembly. The rod has 6 guides, with the 5th and 6th guides from the tip being mounted on one section. The 5th guide from the tip was slightly off-set from the 6th, making it impossible to line up ALL the guides for a friction-free cast. It wasn't offset much, but it was noticeable when the rod is extended. It still caught fish, so I guess it's "okay" in a pinch or for testing out a lake you happen upon.

I got this for my bike so I could carry on rack. I can’t believe the quality of this pole and reel, it casts perfectly and the reel is really smooth ! Highly recommend this item, even carry bag is nice!
