Best money I have spent on my truck!!! Fixed SEVERAL issues.
2013 Silverado 5.3L. I had always noticed a slight stutter in the engine. The check engine light was intermittent. It was consuming oil. And recently, in the mountains, it wasn't shifting smoothly and was lagging. Did some research. All those issues were common to the AFM. I took a chance and got this. Just plug and play. So easy. Immediate smoothing of the engine and better power. In a couple days the check engine light went off and stayed off. The other day, hubby took it off, and said the truck ran so bad he put it right back on. Now he sees it too. He said he didn't see much difference, but he does now that he drove it with it running good.Absolutely recommend.

Unless you’re the gambling type.Reviews looked mostly positive, with a few scattered complaints of messed up shifting. I figured I’d take the gamble as I wanted to disable afm and lock the exhaust flap open (it had developed quite the cold start rattle). Worst case, I’d remove it and get a refund from Amazon. Installed and all seemed good. About a week later my wife, who’s oblivious to any strange noise her vehicles may make, lets me know her Yukon is shifting funny. Sure enough, horrible transmission whine when upshifting, rpm spike during shifts, hunting for gear, and the occasional shudder that was so bad it felt like driving over a rumble strip. Yep, bad. Ok, worst case realized, unplug, return to Amazon, and all will be good again. Turns out there’s a worst(er) case. Unplugged the unit and when for a drive, o change. When for a longer drive thinking things needed to reset, still no change. Pulled the trans dipstick to get a look at the atf. My wife does wear the occasional glitter, but I’m fairly sure that’s not what gave the atf that not so nice sparkle. Local transmission shop confirmed what I suspected, trash pumped through everything, time for a new trans and converter.Maybe it was just coincidence? Maybe after 108k trouble free miles it was time for this 6L80 to go? Or, maybe the range afm disabler took out my perfectly functioning trans? Regardless, my bank account is $5500 lighter and we have a new transmission in our Yukon.
