Nice and bright
Very saturated color. I am pleased with the results. The only thing I can say is that the gloves that come with it are terrible so buy your own gloves. Also it took forever to wash out, but that’s kind to be expected.

Perfect!
So far, I absolutely LOVE the brightness! I just wasn’t expecting the large amounts of bleeding, but being a (normally) semi-permanent user, I have steps to prevent the unwanted dying of the bed, lol. LOVE IT!

WOW. BRIGHT.
EDIT Jan 2, 2025: this is now my favorite box haircolor. been dyeing my own hair for over 20 years. they've added a brush and mark the color tube and developer bottle at 1/3rds sections so you can do touchups of your roots easier-- AND the red lasts long enough that you could actually just do your roots. every other box red, you'll need to redo your whole head regardless from fading. if you're choosing a fashion type red, this is the ultimate brand imo. A year ago my naturally dark brown hair had wound up sunbleached from a lot of time outside, so I dyed it-- which took darker than anticipated, all the way to black. I didn't feel like dyeing my whole head black again, but I had a couple inches of noticeable roots, and the thought occurred to me to do something fun with them. Bright stop-sign red sounded like a time; I've had a whole head of bright red before in the past for several years, I was ready for something daring again. One thing I know about doing bright red is that it fades faster than most anything else, at least anything you'll find in a "natural" box dye section. So usually my method is to use permanent red as the first pass on any virgin hair, be it going red or root touchup, and just re-amp the brightness with temporary or semi-permanent options to keep from totally frying my hair. It's been two months since I used this. I have yet to need that previous routine /at all/. I initially decided to try this unknown brand because my old usual brands and stores have all but stopped stocking true-red permanent hair dye, and the swatches on this looked to be pretty high-lift. While the heat from my scalp will help-- "hot roots" would actually be a boon for this look for me-- even the stuff further from my scalp lifted evenly and brightly. I will say to take caution if a) you're not prepared for every person you walk past to reflexively look at the bright hair, this kind of red is not for the faint of heart to wear, but I swear redheads have more fun than blondes and crazier fun to boot. And b) you've never used semi-perm type dyes before and are used to being able to rinse totally clear either the day you color your hair or the next couple shampoos. you will not. this one's basically my old routine of perm dye + semi-perm dye put together in one application with the way it continues to bleed every time you get your hair wet. For almost the first month, it looked like the kool-aid man had invaded my shower. I would not have trusted my wet head around white towels or pillowcases or light clothes. But I'm about to do my roots again and the previous several inches is still "black widow cosplay red", I wouldn't even have to touch up the previously done section if I didn't want to. And being that I stopped the red last time because my hair was just too tired from the fading corrections, that's an important part for me. Also, just to note, if you do wind up with it bleeding on something, my white towel went back to unstained white in one wash with just a scooch of bleach in the load. the runoff color is not as bad as a lot of long-lasting semi-perm colors out there, and if you drip it during application you can clean it off most surfaces without destroying stuff. I really couldn't ask for more.

Rare gem!!
This is one of the very few reviews that I write but I want it to be known how beautiful this color is if youre not a hairdresser and don’t know the extra steps. It’s so worth it!! You need a glass or plastic bowl because it comes with a brush but not bottle applicator ( if you want a bottle applicatior, buy one a head of time.) with that being the only negative I have. The directions say to wash and dry your hair first, however that would lead to burning on your scalp. I recommend coloring a day or 2 after you’ve washed your hair. I waited 3 days and didn’t feel any discomfort at all. This color will not rinse clear and just like many reds that I’ve tried, there will always seem to be residual color rinsing out for quite a while. If that will annoy you than do not purchase this. It’s no big deal to me because this color is so beautiful that it’s worth it. Make sure you have gloves because it doesn’t come with any and stains very easily. Make sure you put a thicker layer of Vaseline around your hairline this will prevent staining on your face that may take awhile to come off ( do not apply it to your hair as the color might not take) it contains henna and henna stains skin for quite a while. There is alcohol in it so if your hair is on the drier side or really damaged you might not want to use this color or use a repairing or moisturizing hair mask immediately after color is rinsed. I added the conditioner that came with the color to a good hair mask I have and it worked beautifully. The conditioner smells so good. The color solution is strong at all. It will be very bright!!!!!!! If your willing to do the extra things to get a gorgeous head turning color then absolutely get this product!!! I’ll definitely buy it again and again!

It colored more than my hair! UPDATED REVIEW.
*****UPDATE 09/28/25 *****OK, I have lived with the color for about a week and want to give a little more feedback. While I'm not happy with the color on me, it isn't that bad of a product. While I'm still bleeding color when I wash my hair, I'm not bleeding it out on my towels anymore. The color is still bright with no fading, and those of us who use red hair color knows that it tends to fade fast. And surprisingly enough, I've been getting compliments on the color from random strangers! Again, I'm not thrilled with the color on ME, but it appears to have some staying power. The product would probably work very well on very dark hair, but if you have light colored hair like I do, then just be prepared for a shock when it's done. I have used other brands "flame" color before and it was nowhere near this bright. I was going to color over this one, but I'm just going to ride it out and see how it wears. The only other thing to note is that it still left my hair feeling like straw, so I have a leave in conditioner to combat that and it works. ****ORIGINAL REVIEW***** Well, the only positive thing I can say is that the color is true to the box. But I now look like Carrot Top....not a good look for anyone! First of all, it didn't come with a nozzled bottle, but I already had one. Second, it stained my porcelain sink when I rinsed out the bottle after putting it on my head. It burned some on my ears, but wiping it off took care of that. But there was a weird creepy crawly feeling on the back of my head once I had it on. I got scared when I rinsed it off because my hair felt thinner than normal, like the hair had burned off. It went away once I used shampoo to get the rest of the color off. Once I towel dried my hair, it felt like burned straw. My leave in conditioner took care of that. And after all that, I spent 20 minutes on my knees on the floor with bleach cleaner because the color stained the bottom of my shower. At this point, I'm going to wait a couple of days for the rest of the color to bleed out and then recolor my hair. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. I figured I'd try a different color brand, maybe get something a little different from my normal choice....WRONG!

Beautiful Color But Bleeds
***3ish Month Update*** Went to a pool party my hair began bleeding. Super embarrassing. I've reduced my star rating. Can't complain about how long the color lasts at least. **Update** I've lowered my score. I've used enough permanent red hair dyes to know the amount of color bleeding should eventually cease. (I prefer washing my hair once or twice a week because of my hair texture) And it's still badly bleeding. It's a a shame because the color is so pretty and still just as bright. But one of my hoodies is ruined from the red bleeding onto it. --- I've tried a ton of red hair dye brands. This one is a fantastic bright red. I've included several photos. Before, previous red dye and my roots various dark, white and silver. And the after photos, starting with dried. The damage was there before this dye session. Which is why I included straightened photos. I wasn't able to show the brightness in all of my photos. But there is one in there that shows it. The biggest draw back. Obviously the bleeding. I've never had anything bleed as much as this dye does. After about two days of the initial wash I decided to wash my hair. I tried using a hair color seal kit. Did about 5 washes with the shampoo, conditioner and the extra steps in the one I used and dried. It still bleeds badly. If I wear it down and I sweat the red sticks right to my skin. Can't wear it down while I sleep because of this.

No applicator you’ll need a bowl and brush!
I’m impressed. I was so nervous to dye my hair with the red but it looks amazing. I’ve been dying my hair red for 20 years and this is by far my favorite. It didn’t stain anything and came off with alcohol. As for bleeding all reds bleed. I will be getting more!!!

Will stain you and everything you love for days afterwards
It’s very bright and a great color but, I seriously doubt that this is actually permanent hair dye. It feels like it is more of a semi permanent dye. I rinsed for well over an hour initially after dying it and the water never ran clear. I have showered 5 times since then and the water is still just as red and still not running clear. My hair is not fading and that is nice but, if my hair is wet, it stains anything it touches. I got caught in the rain yesterday and ruined a hoodie. I sweat in my sleep and stained my pillow cases and blanket. Like other reviews state, it does not come with a LM applicator bottle and you need to mix it in a bowl and apply it with a brush. That’s fine I just wish it would actually set and not stain everything that I love.
