Party Essentials Hard Plastic 192-Ounce Serving Bowl, Black

Someone needs to defend this reviewer-blighted plastic bowl. I almost didn't buy it because of negative claims that it's so ridiculously flimsy, it practically breaks if you just look at it funny, so let me tell you about the sort of beating this bowl can survive. It was delivered to my house this afternoon in a spacious mailing box that also contained two 34-fluid-ounce bottles of bubble bath, one 17-fluid-ounce bottle of decaulking fluid and one 2-pound canister of whey. For the sake of my argument, I weighed those four items and, not including the weight of the bowl, they added up to 8.37 pounds. They were shipped with minimal packing material, just one skinny, narrow sheet of bubble wrap casually tossed into the box on top of the items for the evident purpose of serving no purpose whatsoever. The bowl, itself, was inside a thin, clear plastic bag. So these five individual items, including the plastic bowl, rocked, rattled, rolled, slid around and banged into each other inside that big box on a journey of 423 miles from Lexington, Ky., to my house, and the bowl did not break, crack or even chip. It appears that you'd have to slam it with a brick to hurt it. So if you want a plastic bowl, I'd say give this one a chance. I didn't rate it on durability because I haven't even had it for an hour yet, but with its track record so far, I'm not worried about it falling apart any time soon.

Cracked a 2 weeks later but worked for a nice big salad

I hoped this would be a good salad bowl that I could use for the many salads I make for lunch. I used it the first time for cut-up fruit when we had guests over. I hand-washed it after that and right after washing I noticed a crack in the side. It's garbage now. Total shame.My guess is that if you want to use this bowl one time for a party or maybe one big salad, go for it. If you want to use it more than once, probably not gonna happen.

used to hold snacks at wedding reception. Worked great. I ordered 2 and used for chex mix with a scoop and boats.

Bowl was exactly what I needed to bring a large pasta salad to a huge cook out. It was so reasonably priced that I didn’t have to worry about finding it after the party. I just left it there. Perfect!

I bought it for a big popcorn bowl. The hard plastic melted from unpopped kernels and cracked after a few uses.

It’s a big, light, ugly bowl, but it served its purpose until it cracked after a few weeks. I handled it with reasonable care, but the plastic is very brittle.

Loved the bowl when I got it - nice and big, perfect for salads, popcorn, snacks, etc. Only hand washed it, but unfortunately it cracked within a month. Worth buying for a party if on sale.

I bought 2 for my husband and I for popcorn bowls. Fairly heavy duty, great colours, price is a little high though. In terms of quality, think a step or two up from dollar store. Price should reflect that at about $4-5 instead of nearly $8. You won't throw it away after use, but probably won't be handing it down through family generations either. I plan on hand washing, as nothing says it's ok for dishwasher and I don't want to ruin them. Perfect size for a batch of air popped popcorn.

think decent plastic,least the two i ordered were. Great for my glow party~!

This bowl is much bigger than I expected. It’d be great for summer back yard bbqs but I was looking for something to hold my ice cubes in the fridge top freezer.
