Review: Solid feel, exceptionally comfortable - I bought this to replace a Merax chair I bought less than 2 years ago that I completely destroyed. One arm was completely gone, and I managed to snap the back of the chair off by leaning in it so much (actually split the wood the screws went into in the seat). Safe to say I'm really hard on chairs. That's why I chose to buy this chair, because it sounded like it was for bigger guys (I'm 6' 2"; 240lbs). First, this chair is extremely comfortable. Plenty of cushion on both the back and the seat. The chair leans back very far, and has a very easily accessible lock on the side that I really love, its more of a switch really. The second and most important thing that stood out to me is this chair feels absolutely solid. The swivel is proper, no rickediness, the casters roll seamlessly, and the arms feel more than securely attached. It was also a breeze to put together, took me about 20 minutes. My only complaints, there was a slight knick on one of the arms, likely caused during transit, not bad enough to make a stink about. And I really really hate this color, but I bought the chair for its perceived sturdiness and comfort, and it delivers 100% in both of those aspects. I will update this review in the next 6 months to a year. UPDATE 10/2018 Chair is still in tact with no damage almost a year later (including the leather), I've been really hard on this chair and it has held up without issue. I will likely only buy these chairs moving forward. Highly recommend. UPDATE 7/26/19 Chair is still nearly damage free another 9-10 months down the road. A little scuffing where the arm rubs against the glass desk, but that isn't the chair's fault. Still glides smooth, arms are still very sturdy which is amazing because I've leaned over them numerous times. No cracks or heavy wear, and still plush in the seat. I'm going to look at LaZBoy chairs first from now on. This one made me a believer. UPDATE 5/30/20 Chair is still going strong, other than some very slight scuffing of the arm where it sometimes rubs against the desk, everything is still in remarkable shape, still plush in the back and seat. I'm impressed, I will buy another one of these chairs if this one ever decides to break. UPDATE 8/18/23 I'm blown away. Nearly 6 years of daily use, and not only is everything still functional, the padding is still plush. Coming from a guy who broke chairs every 18 to 24 months. I'm very impressed at the durability. UPDATE 02/2025 Chair is still fully functional, but beginning to show heavy wear on the seat and arms. The leather is wearing out where I sit down and get up from the chair. Surprisingly, the seat and back are still very plush, and the chair lock and tilt still work. I'm hoping to get one or two more years before retiring this chair, I will definitely be replacing it with the same or an equivalent model.
Review: Durable and Smart Looking, Reasonably Priced - This is an office chair nicer than the low-end stuff sold for under $200 at the office stores. Good: - Upholstery durability: This chair has stood up to day-long use for nearly an entire year by someone weighing over 135 kg (300 pounds). There is no sign of wear, cracking or splitting in the upholstery. This is one area where less expensive chairs quickly fail. - Cushioning is quite comfortable. - Mechanical durability: the main support has held up and swivels as well as the day I bought it. I have no sense that the mechanical parts of this chair have deteriorated. This is another area in which this chair shines versus less expensive chairs. Bad: - Main support is tilted enough to notice. For what it's worth, It hasn't gotten worse, so I think this is a manufacturing quality issue, not a part durability issue. I decided to live with it, but I believe some others would easily find this intolerable. Mixed / You Decide: - The arms are a little loose. They were fairly snug when first installed, and have loosened a bit since. They have not gotten bad, though, and do not seem to be worsening. Customer Support: - One of the original arms for my chair was chipped. I contacted the company and they sent a pair of new arms quickly and without fuss. **Q: Over $425 for a vinyl covered chair? Is this leather or not? Hearing mixed opinions. Tx!**
A: For $425 you should not be expecting 10 year warranties quality leather. As a leathercrafter myself, you couldn’t buy enough leather to cover this chair in high quality leather for the $425 price tag. 
Expectations people, adjust them. The chair costs to mfr, if you want high end leather on your chair, expect to have that done as a custom order after market. And for it to cost at least twice what you spent on the chair, but probably closer to 4x the chair.

**Q: What is the width of the seat?**
A: The width of the seat between the arm rests (actual room for your posterior) measures a little over 22".
If you add the arm rests and take into account the angle of them, the chair width is just a bit over 28" at the point where you sit.
For me, it provides plenty of room.  I'm a guy and I was about 300 lbs when I bought the chair.
I've lost weight since then, but I still love the chair.  It is very comfortable for me.

**Q: Does the chair rock, or does it just tilt to a fixed position?  If it rocks, is there a tension control for the rocking spring?**
A: The chair does rock all the way back or you can lock it in place so that it does not rock. It can only be locked in the upright position and cannot be locked in between the upright position and the fully reclined position. It does have a tension control for the rocking spring. Hope this helps.

**Q: How efficient is this chair with absorbing those end of the day office farts? I don't want clients smelling my shameful relief.**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent but not as good as my last La-Z-Boy, don't have to be big & tall to buy!

I bought my last La-Z-Boy office chair almost 10 years ago and just now replaced it, obviously after that amount of time, they no longer make the one I had. This one is ok but isn't as comfortable or as feature ladened as my previous one. I had no trouble assembling it so idk if they've improved it since others posted but it was quick and easy. I needed a 2nd person to push down on the bottom of the seat while I attached it to the back bc it is very padded but other than that it was easily a one-person job. I'm only 5'4' but intentionally bought an oversized chair since my dog insists on sitting with me. I was concerned it would be too tall but even without putting it on the lowest setting my feet easily reach the floor. The seat itself is slightly wider than my last one but there's no noticeable difference in the depth which is disappointing. There are only two adjustable features, up & down and tilt. That's it. The tilt you can lock or unlock and tighten or loosen. In contrast, my previous chair had adjustable lumbar, adjustable headrest, multi-way adjustable arms, as well as tilt that actually changed & locked in, plus up & down of course. I knew this one wasn't as feature ladened, I only mention it bc if those features are important to you, at least 10 years ago, La-Z-Boy did offer them so you might want to keep looking. I didn't think they would matter to me but I'm already noticing their absence so we'll see... The leather looks & feels nice, we'll see how long it lasts. My previous one started cracking after 3 years but La-Z-Boy sent me a new cover for free! The base & armrests do appear to be solid wood & are a nice gray color that I like. Right now the wheels are extremely tight to roll but hopefully, that will loosen with time. The lumbar padding works fine for me so far, it's comfortable when I do sit back but I spend most of my time sitting up & don't use it much. At 5'4" my head reaches the top of the chair so anyone taller than that will be above the back of the chair, keep that in mind if you're looking for a headrest. Overall, I am happy with this purchase but not blown away like I was when I received my previous one 10 years ago & I'm not sure how it would fit someone who is actually big or tall.
