I had another Seiko digital clock for 15+ years, and I finally had to retire it, so I went looking for an updated model. While there was nothing quite like my old beloved clock, this was the closest.My wishlist:-- Time display as the main focus-- Date-- Day of week-- Temperature-- Under 6" wide-- Touch-activated backlightIt sounded simple, but there were almost no models on the market that met these specifications that weren't a folding-style travel alarm clock. This was pretty much THE ONE. Given my very positive previous experience with the brand, I took a gamble on it despite the low rating. I'm so glad I did!It's exactly what I wanted. Great size, looks slick. And, bonus, the backlight is a great amber/orange color compared to the bright blue in from my old clock, so this is perfect in my mind. In fact, I like it so much that I'm buying two more to go in other parts of the house.IMO, the low ratings for this clock are wholly unjustified. I didn't have any difficult programming it, and the subtle display is exactly what I want. Granted, if you want bright numbers you can read from across the room, this is not the clock for you, but for those looking for a compact bedroom or bathroom clock, look no further.

I should have paid closer attention to the other reviews. This clock looks nice but it is very frustrating to set the time, etc. While it seems to be simple, the placement of the buttons makes it difficult to almost impossible to set all the features. I finally just gave up after I set the correct time. The date, etc. are all wrong but I didn’t feel like messing with it again. You have to reset everything and start all over again to make changes. I have other Seiko clocks which are great but this one just doesn’t fit the bill….even at 50% off. Also, I assumed that this Seiko clock was made in Japan like other Seiko products. I was surprised to see “made in China.”

Display shows best when you are standing (or you have to tilt it). Who wants to get out of bed to see the time? Also, you have to hit the bar to have it lighted.I also had to actually read the instructions to figure out how to set the time. Not easy at all.I've had Seiko watches/clocks for 50 years, and this is the absolute worst. I threw out the box and such as i just knew it would be a great clock. Wrong! Lost my money.Do not recommend for any use.

This is a great clock. I got it because it shows not only the time but the date and day of the week. Working nights and changing dates and days of the week in the middle of your work"day" can make it tricky to keep up with what day/date it is. Also, when you work nights and have to sleep during the day, the darker you can make your bedroom, the better you sleep. Even though the display is large and easy to read, this clock does not have a lighted display, which again makes it perfect. Also, it has dual alarms, and when an alarm goes off, the display lights up and flashes. I'm very pleased with this clock. It has all the features I want and need in a digital clock. The fact that it is battery operated, as well as thin and compact would also make it a good travel alarm clock. Money well spent.

I like this item it has a good size display, is solid, and has easy to set features and also the temperature. I like an alarm clock that does not stay lit all the time, that’s this one. The light will come on if tap the top or when the alarm goes off. My only complaint is the snooze function is very aggressive. It’s only a five minute snooze. If you tap it four times, you still only get five minutes not, 20 which is different than my prior alarm clock. Sometimes I like to snooze because I’ve set my alarm overly early, this one is going to come at you every five minutes whether you like it or not.

Small in size which is good, lights up so you can see time, date and temperature in the dark. Nice alarm clock

Very classy, nice looking clock. Better looking than the photos and with a little weight to it. Had no trouble setting it as reported by other reviewers. Push the Time Set button for two seconds, which starts the process. Each element on the screen will blink in sequence as the Time Set button is successively pushed. Adjust each element with the plus or minus buttons, push Time Set again to move on to the next element. Pretty straightforward. Clock is running about 20 seconds a month fast. The accuracy promised by the warranty is up to 30 seconds a month. The thermometer is poor, off 1- 2 degrees from my other digital thermometers. Would normally return it for that inaccuracy but in this case I don't care about the thermometer. Amazon reports this clock has a Japanese quartz movement but that is not confirmed by the factory sticker, which has a blank space for the country of origin of the movement. The alarm is a little beep that catches your attention and increases its beeping if you don't turn it off. All in all, a very nice clock.

I didn't like the clock too complicated for a senior, I gave it away.
