I’m a pro DIYer. Never done door springs. So my issue may be, just the way it is. These springs are the exact same size as the old ones. Same length and wire diameter. Here’s my issue. When I put thirty 1/4 turns into these springs the door comes flying up if it’s not locked or attached to the opener. If I take a few turns out so the door is balanced then there aren’t enough turns in the spring to keep tension on the cables all the way to the top. Then the cables come off the spool and I have to start all over. I messed with these several times over the course of 2 weeks. Finally I got sick of the cables coming off when the door was balanced and just left it with thirty 1/4 turns in each spring. My hopes is the springs wear out after a few cycles and the door won’t come flying open when detached from the opener.

These springs worked great. The hardest part of installing them was that the screws holding the previous springs made indentations in the rod severely enough to warp the rod. Had to file the rod down a bunch to get these in the right position. Otherwise went as expected. Would purchase again.

Be careful unpacking when you cut the straps the springs bounce at you but bought these to replace a broken one in my garage springs. Works good just took a bit to get them adjusted just right to the door.

Work just as expected so far

Yeah, the bars on mine also didn't have rubber ends. But that did not affect installation at all. I think it's more important that you make sure the bars are fully inserted as you are winding the spring. I used some tape to mark when they are fully inserted. The build quality on these looks like like my old set. Time will tell, but so far so good.

These springs are excellent quality and easy to install. Highly recommend. For those who have two springs, a simple google search will help you figure out which goes on the left and which goes on the right. Anyone who leaves a poor review on this item isn’t willing to put in the effort or do the research it takes to complete a DIY job.

Fixed the garage door

I am writing this review in response to all the other negative reviews posted. First of all the springs came quickly. I live in Canada and these springs came within 1 week. That may sound long but there was no other place that would sell me springs. For those people who are complaining about the "free" winding bars, are you buying torsion springs or winding bars? I didn't actually use the supplied winding bars as i had 1/2 steel rod from the last time i replaced my springs.The springs are clearly marked, as the the left side spring cone is painted red and the right side painted black. For those that were expecting an R or L maybe should leave the job to a professional.The springs seem to work well so far, the door is well balanced and level.I may update the review depending on how long the springs last.
