The diagrams are not 100% intuitive at first, but if you stare at them long enough they’ll become second nature. So you do have to be a little patient at first. I spent a long time looking for something like this; I want the little one to get a knack for assembling and disassembling and improving dexterity creativity and problem solving. Infinitely better than having them watch TV. And it kills a lot of time. As the inflation runs rampant in our economy, I can’t help but think this is a decent price to pay for such a great product that got me valuable time with my kid. It’s fun for sure, quality isn’t bad at all. Naturally the kid lost like ten parts so I have to order the replacements :)

bought this for my nephew for Christmas. He loves it. But he is also the kind of kid who can sit and concentrate on a meticulous task for hours. It takes patience to assemble and the directions are not always as clear as they could be. I recommend getting some zip lock bags to store the pieces in between use - there are a ton of tiny pieces that can easily be lost if you are not careful.

My 4yo is a robot fan. He really enjoy this toy. With some help he is able to build the different robots. The pieces were appropriately sized for his hands. He really feels excited each time he use this robot. At first sight I was skeptical about the product quality but its decent quality and woks really well.

We got this for an almost 4 year old that likes challenging building things and robots. She can't build it on her own yet, but can with help, and loves playing with each design for a day or two before building the next. The screw for the motor piece to secure batteries was missing. We used tape to secure. When making the stomp bot, that bot doesn't always operate and we thought it was the battery pack shaking lose. It is not. It is just the design. The rest of the bots have operated as expected. Such a fun creative kit for a really reasonable price. If you have a builder - this is awesome.

We recently watched a FIRST FRC competition with our 4yo grandson and the robots stole show. Especially the one with the goggly eyes! So, we got this kit and he and I built one of the robot versions and swapped out the sticker eyes for googly eyes and had a blast watching him mimic the robot walking around the deck. I had to put the final 'click' on some pieces but he did most of the work himself. Highly recommended!

I got this for my 7yo nephew for Christmas (For reference of his abilities: he’s a bright kid but fairly average. Just above average grade level expectations for reading and he’s about average at math. I do think he’s a better than his peers at following technical instructions on complicated Lego kits etc though) He was immediately excited to play with it and could follow the instructions mostly by himself. However, we quickly ran into issues: 1. The battery cover was missing the screw to keep it closed. The screw required is tiny (I believe we eventually ended up finding Grandpa’s old glasses repair kit) and requires a mini screwdriver. Luckily, Grandpa had an appropriately sized screwdriver but I imagine many families don’t just have that on-hand as a standard tool 2. The motor burns through AA batteries. I had included a brand-new package of batteries with the present, but within an hour of opening the toy (estimate 20 minutes running time?), the batteries were running too low for the engine to power the movement of the robot. 3. Some of the design builds are very finicky and easily throw themselves out of alignment. There were a lot of big feelings when the 7yo had put together the “walking” robot build and it wouldn’t go. It took the combined efforts of three grownups (one of whom is an engineer!) to troubleshoot the alignment issues. For an independent child who wants to build it by themselves, this was very upsetting. 4. A nitpick that is a pet peeve of mine: the on/off switch is setup so that the off position is in the middle. Instead of having one switch for on/off and one for forward/ reverse, there is only one switch arranged reverse/off/forward. I can imagine scenarios where one may need to shut the toy off quickly (example: hair gets snagged). Overall, my nephew liked his gift and I think the toy is fairly educational. However, it was frustrating and needed a lot more assistance from grownups than we had anticipated.

Ways over priced. Good toy if this is what your kid is into. My kids have never gotten much out of it.
