MIDSOMER MURDERS: SERIES 11

Warning: Episode 3 is Very Very Disturbing
I have enjoyed this series so far, although - as others have pointed out - some of the recent plot lines are quite outlandish and over the top. But, this season lost a star because of Episode 3. It involves the long-ago torture and apparent murder of a 10-year old boy by a group of abominable children, the boy's subsequent imprisonment in a dark basement by adults, and the years-long coverup of these crimes by everyone. All leading to revenge murders in the episode's present day. In my view, the episode should not have aired or, at least, have come with a strong warning at the beginning.

Great Series
Being a "binge" watcher" of the Midsomer Murders (all series on Netflix), I enjoy most of the episodes; however, there are a few I don't watch more than once. My favorite episode is the first episode on Series 11. The wives of the 2 feuding families on this episide are very entertaining, especially Mrs. Hicks. How they perfected her role for this is great. She plays the part to perfection, although all the actors do a great job. She has to be my favorite character in the entire series. Anytime I am in need of a bit of humor to lighten the day I watch it again. All the characters in this one are perfect for their roles as well as their differences. I could do without the nude scenes though, and the sex stuff. I just fast forward through them with the remote anyway. Not needed. I enjoyed the John Nettles series the most, but the newer ones are good. Just not "as good". I don't like all the "political correctness" in the newer series. It is just disgusting that they would ruin a really excellent mystery series with such nonsence! I do miss the man who was the original Pathologist. He was great for the part. I liked his understated humor. Haven't liked any of the newer ones. Waste of time.

โOh all right. Itโs the howl of a werewolf ravening for blood.โ
Seven more mysteries featuring affable detective DCI Barnaby (John Nettles). In these offerings Cully Barnaby gets married while more murderers rampage through the countryside killing people left and right in a host of ways: arrows, a hatpin, bullets, a clothes dryer, poison frogs, and an iron maiden. Spikes anyone!Naturally, Tom Barnaby solves them all with his usual aplomb.....with an assist of sorts by Detective Sergeant Ben Jones (Jason Hughes). Even Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey) stops by, proving he still canโt drive. Otherwise, itโs business as usual: feuds, family secrets, grudges aplenty, jealousy, and retribution. What fun!

A police drama a cut above the rest.
John Nettles, although aging a little, takes the role of DCS Barnaby brilliantly, able abetted by Jason Huges as his sergeant, Ben Jones in this collection. I think he was the best actor in that role, (which is why I bought his episodes) laid back just enough, but accepting of people's quirks and foibles not to criticise.

John Nettles In best Murder series ever on tv
Our nightly treat as never anything on tv worth watching. Have now bought every episode with John Nettles in and itโs been something to look forward to during winter nights in lockdown. Just a shame Neil Dugeon took over

It does what it says on the label
Yet another great series from John Nettles as Barnaby. He solves the murders etc with such panache and dare I say it, entertainment that looking at the episode again and again you see points that you missed first time round. Really great entertainment and a warning not to go and live or die in Midsomer!!!

a must for prime time blues
Like all Midsomers, dead entertaining and just the thing for that time in the evening when you look at the TV schedules see that there is nothing you want to watch, and say to your self are they trying to drive every one to the pub, but I digress these are much better without those irritating adverts every five minutes.
