So long 3M and your $20 filters! Hello FilterBuy!!!! These are made better than I expected!!!! I bought the 16x25x1, I read a lot of negative reviews saying a person got cut etc. I had my husband open the box, and film it just in case. The filters came in shrink-wrapped and packed safely in a large box. Only one of the filters had a little dent which is nothing to worry about. My furnace is brand new I would not put something that will cause a ridiculous amount of damage to my $10,000 brand new freon free units.[ For those of you who do not know this freon has been banned by the United States they are no longer making it nor are they importing it from anywhere.] [Companies are allowed to carry and use up what remains in their warehouses, however be prepared to pay an obscene amount of money for it. [The freon in cars is not the same and has not been addressed,nor appliance's, hence my new units.] These filters are sturdy the wires are not razor sharp the wire mesh is made as expected. You would have to take the filter apart to get to the metal mesh piece that keeps the filter together while the intake and the outtake work in tandem. I used to buy 3M filters and those cost a pretty penny I found these to be a lot better made A whole lot easier to fit and the price is absolutely amazing! I don't know how a reviewer said it left a deep cut unless you remove the metal mesh with the express purpose to gouge or cut yourself I cannot imagine that anyone using these filters for nothing other than what it is intended for. My old unit used the same size filter I never had a problem with any of them. The filters are as described and then some they are very well-made and if I were to buy the allege "better brand" or rather a more expensive one I would pay about $35 for just one. Everyone is going to have their own opinion about these filters and I respect that. I have used this size for over 15 years I have not had an accident removing an old filter to replace with a new thank God. I will definitely re-order these when I am done with the ones that got here today. I'm still ridiculously giddy at the great quality and how well made these are. My husband removed the old 3M filter I compared it with FilterBuy and was taken aback at how much better the quality and sturdier FilterBuy is. I set the 3M next to the FilterBuy, I just noticed the 3M is so flimsy, I can't imagine why I bought it, the dust would have gotten caught on the out take. A huge danger for me since I have asthma and COPD. In pics 5 and 6 I'm showing the new 3M on the left versus the new FilterBuy on the right. Keep in mind the 3M filter does NOT make a back mesh which results in the dust etc coming back on the return. In the last 2 pics you can see a little dent on the new filter, it slid right in without a problem. Tiny dent DOES NOT compromise the efficiency of the unit or its other counter parts. A little dent, ding,dong,dang, or pleated crease is not a major issue, a little 'scooch' 'scrunch' 'jiggle' and teeny tiny 'shove' will fix that right up. Bottom line, we got more bang for our buck with FilterBuy. Finally, here's where I say......THANK GOD FOR AMAZON PRIME.... they bring the solution to you in one day, without the hassle of standing in line!

The quality of these have gone downhill. The last 6 pack I received did not fit well, had to squish to get into the vent and has been making a whistling noise. Will be going with a different brand.

These Filterbuy 18x20x1 MERV 8 (6-pack) work well and fit easily into the AC air handler. The filters were sold at a fair market price. The MERV 8 level filters are the recommended filter for most AC systems unless otherwise specified. If you use the higher rated MERV level air filters you take a chance of damaging your blower motor and possibly worse if you don't change you filters on a planned schedule.

Basic HVAC filters that perform well in a commercial unit. Fit perfectly and seem to do a good job cleaning the air. Would buy again if needed. World peace was facilitated by this item today.

I had been using another popular brand of MERV 8 filter with thousands of reviews. I bought the Filterbuy filter and changed the other brand of filter today. The old filter had been used for two months. Before I installed the new Filterbuy filter, I compared both filters. The weight and size are about the same. However, I was able to look through the old filter which had been used two months and saw sun coming through the blinds in a window. In the same test, I could not see the sun through the new Filterbuy filter (both filters MERV 8). The Filterbuy filter costs about 10% more than the old filter and is worth the extra cost.

Perfect fit for the air handlers. This is a repeat purchase for me as the prices are better than the big-box stores and the filters quality is excellent.
