Addressing issues in other reviews (will continue updating over the next few years)
Before you start reading some of you can skip to the end for an overall summary. 6/8/21 Firstly yes this is a small multipurpose rice cooker as it is supposed to be. That being said it is for cooking smaller portions of food. There was a customer who did not get a manual with hers but I took a video of it and posted that on her question, I will later update this review with pictures. Use the proper portions of water you need for your rice and it won't be hard. Also use at least mid quality rice not the cheapest rice you find because the cheapest rice won't cook properly no matter what rice cooker you use or even if you cook in a pot on the stove. Measure your water using the inside measurements on the cooking insert not using the rice portion cup. This is because there is a difference between dry measuring cups (like the rice cup provided) and a liquid measuring cup. I assume you'd want to clean it sooner rather than later because it's a household appliance which isn't something you want to leave your left over food in for weeks on on. If you want your appliances and dishes to last you need to clean them sooner rather than later. As for cleaning the cooking insert is removable, the inside steam valve pulls out, and the back steam/drip tray pulls out. As some review said "the rubber attachment on the lid stays attached" this is so that it can properly cook your food. Simply wash the removable parts and wipe down the inner and out parts of the rice cooker. UPDATE: after cleaning it as you're supposed to, I opened it up again and I did notice the smell of the rice still on the inside of the machine. So far day 1 it works as it is supposed to. I will continue updating to see if it breaks like others are claiming. UPDATE 7/22 it's been 44 days I've only used it a handful of times. One thing I will note out, the markings on the rice cooker seem a little of for the water but I'm making brown rice today and used 3 cups rice and today I'm using the 1 inch (first line) finger method for the water. Last time I made rice it boiled over and was mushy from too much water. so I figured this may make my rice cook through, not be watery, and not boil over. Update: the rice came out perfectly see image. I used 3 cups of rice (using the rice cup provided with the machine) and for water I did about 1 inch above the rice which is to the first line of your index finger. Measure by touching the rice with tip of finger and fill water to the first line of your finger. Admittedly I didn't have overly high hopes about this rice cooker but thought this was great for my purposes and I was wrong about its quality based on reviewers that potentially didn't make effort to know what to do. It is a decent rice cooker, especially for a college student. I would buy this for a gift for any family member. I was able to reasonably make 3 cups of perfect brown rice using the finger method. And I was able to get the rice smell out by putting some vinegar in the rice cooking container and letting lt go for a few minutes on steam setting. Clean the inside of the machine with a damp cloth but do not soak it or submerge it as I think other reviews might have done. I can see this lasting me for years. 8/3/22 1 year later still no issues, I even made sushi rice with it I'll update again in anither year or when the machine finally breaks down.

How To Make Yogurt. Instructions Clarified.
This cooker makes good yogurt but the instructions are poorly written because it is from China so let me explain it correctly so you can do it right the first time. I started with the 2L box of Westsoy soy milk at room temperature. You can put in as much of the liquid in as you want. The instruction manual says not to exceed 1/2 capacity but this is wrong because the liquid will not expand like cooked rice will. Close the lid, push ON, then YOGURT, then START and the screen will say "HEAT." It will take only 30 minutes for the liquid to reach 85C at which time the screen will switch to "COOL." Note that the heating time will take a lot longer if you start with cold liquid because it heats rather slowly. The cooling time to reach 45C will take around 2 hours at which time the screen will say "ADD". Now you add your starter culture and thickener (I used tapioca flour) and stir it in with a wire whisk. Push YOGURT again and let the timer default to 8 hours or set it to whatever time you want. Screen will say "DONE" when time is finished. I took the pot out, covered it, and let it rest on the counter for 2 hours per the suggestion that came with the starter culture. Refrigerate before serving. This is good with fruit preserve stirred in like cherry, blackberry, apricot or orange marmalade. If at any time the yogurt looks grainy or lumpy just stir it up with a wire whisk and that will fix it. I think you should be able to make a good batch on your first try. Enjoy!

Ahorra tiempo
Muy buen producto, pero hace falta instructivo, algo de como hacer tu primer arroz? Cuando le entiendes ya es muy práctica y te ahorra mucho tiempo, puedes hacer otra cosa y siempre tendrás arroz
