Recieved item on time, assembly was fairly easy, it looks just as advertised & it's quite pretty, BUT, this item comes with a key to unlock the mirror door so you can access your jewelry inside...the key never worked. The key didn't fit, or was defective, & I was not able to unlock the mirror once it was locked, so we had to break the lock. I don't actually need mine to lock, so I'm keeping it, but if locking your items is a priority, beware. *UPDATE* The smell!!! After we broke the lock to reopen the mirror, an extremely strong smell punched us in the face! It's a mixture of chemicals & dead fish - when it was assembled, it was outdoors, & although we smelled something, we just kept going. Once inside, the smell took over 3 rooms before we moved it outside to hopefully air out. No such luck. I guess we'll just leave it outside & hope the smell will eventually subside. As of now, it's completely useless.

Please... if nothing else HEED THIS WARNING. The mirror and insides are top-notch. Honestly I felt like it had TOO much space, but the wife says there is never too much space for jewelry, so what do I know. DO NOT OPEN THIS IN YOUR HOUSE!!! If you do, be prepared for a horrible chemical smell throughout the house. I initially disregarded because things like that never happen to me. It was STRONG, and I cannot believe they haven't killed someone yet with the level of dangerous chemicals inside that they use for the deep cleaning. Seriously- leave it out in a garage or other covered building with a door ajar. I thought leaving in the garage would be good enough and almost passed out from the fumes when I went outside hours later to bring it in. My mother-in-law works for an industrial cleaning company so luckily I had some industrial strength deodorizer that killed everything inside to a certain degree, but even that was not enough that I don't notice it hours later. This product is sold from multiple dealers here on Amazon, I cannot in good conscience not recommend you purchase from one of them where the chemicals/fumes are not a serious health concern.

I have a two totally opposite options. First-this box is really good for all my jewelry stuff, very easy to install and it looks nice. Second-horrible smell. It is already 2 more weeks I got it. Chemical smell inside, probably glue and plastic smells. This box in my bedroom. First week I kept the windows open all day, but smell so horrible, I had a headache. Then I put box outside and leave there. One week later it still stinks. Even all my jewelry stinks. Unfortunately I throw away shipping box and I can’t return it.2 years after-good box! All my jewels are organised and it has a lot of room for everything. I am glad I did not return it. Smell disappeared after 2-3 weeks.

This arrived several days before it said it would and I was excited to put it together! It wasn't too hard, but a quick tip: when it's time to attach the mirror to the legs, lay the mirror face down down on the floor instead of holding it up and trying to align the screw with the hole. Then it should only require one person.The inside of the mirror is beautiful! Nice black felt and it really show's off the jewelry. The glass of the mirror itself is nice and of good quality, but the trim around the mirror is a brown paint, not a stain. The legs look to be stained, so it would have been nice to have the frame of the mirror match the legs. Other than that the looks of this piece is fine. It is a little top heavy, so you definitely need to put it on a level surface.As for the smell.....Normally when I see complaints of a chemical smell I ignore them because they usually don't bother me. Not the case with this one. The smell is so strong it permeated the whole house. We had it in our living room to try to air it out before putting it in our bedroom, but after 20 mins we could smell it even with our door shut. We put it in the garage and opened the door to air it out better. It's only been one day so the smell is still just as strong, and my whole garage is filled with the smell. I have both stalls open now so hopefully that will do something to quicken the process. I might try some febreze and see if that helps.

I was a little disappointed in the workmanship with knicks in the wood, the inner lining coming out the back and the upper part of the door not closing completely. I could expect this if it was cheap or second hand not brand new out the box

Aside from the fact that it has a lot of storage and looks really nice., I cannot seem to get this horrid smell out of it. It took me ten minutes to build it and I was so happy but as soon as I opened it the smell was just everywhere! It is pouring outside or I would have left it out in the sun for a bit. SO for now, we have it in the bathroom with the exhaust fan on hoping this smell goes away. I wish I had read the other reviews first. I am hoping the smell goes away. For now I am stuck with a bad headache. Also has the wood/paint chipped in one corner.

UPDATE: The smell never went away. I had to trash this organizer. What a waste.I've had this cabinet for almost three weeks and have left it open in our garage for all of that time because the noxious fumes from it were making me sick when I put it in our bedroom right after receiving it. It lasted in our room for only a few hours before I relegated it to the garage, hoping that keeping it there, open all the time, it would air out and the smell would vanish. The smell is not as strong as it was when I first got it, but it's still strong enough that I can't even contemplate moving it back inside. I am losing hope that it will ever be completely gone and that I'll be able to use this cabinet.I'm extremely disappointed. The cabinet itself is exactly what I wanted, and I was excited about getting it. Now I have $100 piece of furniture that will likely be donated or trashed because it smells so bad. I can't return it because (1) I threw away the packing materials, thinking it would air out quickly and (2) it's so heavy, I can't imagine what it would cost me to send it back.I do NOT recommend this product at all. I don't know what they used to assemble it at the factory, but it's awful.
