eKO Yoga Mat

Absolutely perfect! Amazing quality 🥰 yes it’s a little stinky at first, they always are. Just wipe it off with vinegar and let it air out a few days.

I love this mat. Even though it's heavy, this is the mat I bring to studios. (And from my experience, only the manduka large mat tote can fit it. You may be able to find others to carry it with, but just remember that you will have to shell out more money. A cheap regular yoga sling won't fit it.) I also have an eco lite and super lite which I use for different purposes (home practice and teaching yoga to my high school students after a regular academic day, respectively). I bring this one to the studios because it's the most solid, grippy mat that gives me (almost) total freedom to do the poses I want to do. However, I say "almost" because if I'm sweating profusely (usually because it's in the summertime and the studio didn't run air-conditioner - I don't usually do hot yoga), my hands and feet WILL slip on this mat. That's when I use my manduka yoga towel (I can't believe how much money I spend on manduka products!). With a yoga towel on the mat, I'm completely fine if I'm sweating. (But if I'm not sweating, the yoga towel is not grippy at all.) So if you do hot yoga, remember to bring a yoga towel to lay on top of the mat when you start to sweat.

This mat is affordable and visually appealing, but it has significant drawbacks. Despite claims of being made from natural materials, it has a persistent rubber smell that doesn’t seem natural, even after two months of use. The odor is especially strong during heated practice and might be bothersome for those sensitive to smells. Additionally, my hands tend to sweat while using it, making it uncomfortable to practice. While it’s non-slip and functional, the lingering smell, questionable material quality, and sweaty feel make it disappointing for anyone seeking a truly natural, odor-free, and comfortable option."

This thing will probably put live me.. it is so sturdy. It’s such a great mat. I think the only problem is that it’s so heavy that rolling it up it takes some getting used to, but I love it. It is easy to wash and luckily I picked a dark color because I’ve learned that bright colors on yoga mats stain and the stains never come out.

I purchased a Manduka "eKO 2.0 Wet-Grip Natural Tree Rubber 5mm" mat after having a LuLuLemon "The Mat 5mm" for the past year. I do hot yoga every single day and absolutely love the LuLu Lemon mat, but wanted to find out for myself which was better. I normally do an entire 75 - 90 minute session of hot vinyasa on my LuLuLemon mat, without a towel, and do not slide the entire time, or at least not until the end. One of my favorite yoga instructors recommended the eKO mat because of the "tred" that the mat has (Illustrated in attached picture). If you rub your dry fingers along a dry "eKO" mat, and then do the same with "The Black Mat PRO", you will notice that the eKO mat has much more traction and less slip potential. As I said, I do hot vinyasa yoga (98 degrees - 103 degrees) everyday, so the best mat for me is the one that keeps you from slipping and sliding around on your mat when you start to get wet and sweaty. When first getting on my Manduka mat, the first thing I realized is the cushion and stability is good. NOW FOR WHAT MATTERS! Which mat is the least slippery? Within the first minute of getting into downward dog on my Manduka mat (without a towel), my fingers were slipping forward. I had not even begun to break a sweat yet. I continued to try to use the mat, but I had to keep resetting my hands. They kept slipping. On the LuLuLemon mat, as long as the mat is properly cleaned after every use (and allowed to dry overnight), I can do an entire 90 minute session without slipping what-so-ever, without a towel. THE CATCH- When I purchased my Manduka eKO mat, I also purchased a manduka eQua towel. After being frustrated with my new Manduka eKO purchase, I layed the towel on top of the mat. THESE PRODUCTS GO TOGETHER LIKE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY! As soon as i laid my dry towel on my dry mat, the towel clinged to the mat and did not move what-so-ever. I made it through the entire class without ever sliding forward what-so-ever. The only problem was that the towel gets so soaked and retains the moisture. By the end of the class, I was laying in a literal pool of sweat (not just a damp towel).. Even with the pool of sweat, I was not slipping when going back into downward dog, but that does not change the fact that you are laying in a pool of sweat. It was obvious at that point that the LuLu Lemon mat is lightyears ahead of the Manduka when it comes to absorbing moisture. When I got home to clean my mat: I sprayed my Manduka mat with a fine mist cleaner as I do everyday with my LuLuLemon mat after use. The proof of moisture absorption really came to light when doing this. When I spray my LuLuLemon mat, the moisture is absorbed so fast that I have to wipe the area sprayed immediately, otherwise it will just absorb. With the Manduka mat, I was able to spray down the entire mat, with the entire mat staying wet and not absorbed. CONCLUSION- If you need the best mat for hot, wet & sweaty yoga, and like to do yoga without a towel, LULULEMON "THE MAT" IS THE WINNER. If you like using a towel, get MANDUKA eKO 2.0 with the MANDUKA eQua TOWEL. It's a fantastic towel with fantastic static retention. The Manduka mat does not compare to the amazing stickiness and traction of a LuLuLemon mat. However, no towel sticks to a lulu lemon mat like the eQua sticks to the eKO 2.0

This is my second Manduka mat. I bought my frist one 15 years ago and while it wasn't 'worn out', it was a bit rough around the edges and my cat had thrown up on it a few times (LOL). So I splurged and bought a new one and I hadn't realized that over the years I had worn down the texture on the rubber a bit on my first one, and getting this new one and feeling how slip-proof it is, I'm so happy to have upgraded to new one. These are the BEST yoga mats and well worth the cost if you consider you can easily get 15 years of use out of it (and I do yoga multiple times a week).

After a year of using disgusting gym mats, I finally invested in this quality mat. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it's just started to show signs of the top layer starting to flake off in a couple spots. I average 2-3 hot vinyasa classes and 2-3 yin classes per week. My concern doing research on mats was the slippery issue. So I guess this is closed cell so maybe it supposedly doesn't absorb sweat making it slippery right? I remember the first couple of uses thinking it was a little slippery during hot vinyasa, but it quickly broke in and I never gave any thought to sliding around after that short break-in period. Unless I'm really sweating an ocean, it does absorb dripping sweat (i.e. it's not going to puddle up or anything). I cleaned it faithfully with Manduka mat cleaner after every use and it has never stunk or felt gross. For the past couple months I got lazy and quit cleaning it because I'm about to replace it, but even after that it hasn't gotten funky at all. I've also seen some complaints about the new mat smell. In my experience that dissipated quickly and wasn't an issue at all. I'm 6' tall 195 lbs, and the length and thickness are ideal for me. I was afraid that it might have been discontinued, but happily I'm ordering a new one and I hope they make this mat forever.

I bought this mat over all the others, because I bought a manduka eko about 14 years ago. And that mat has been through it. I expected the same quality. And I have to say im disappointed. Its several inches more narrow than my old one, and doesn't grip like my old one. I'm thinking im not going to get the same life out of this one as my old one. One pro is this one doesn't smell as bad as the old one which still has a smell after all these years.

The item is narrower than described (61cm v 66cm)

We use this for mat for body conditioning exercises. It has a good grip on the ground and just enough cushion. The mat rolls up and is easily stored next to the rest of our exercise gear. Very very pleased with it's overall performance.

I have been using this mat for yoga, and it is probably one of the best in the market, doesn't slip at all, very nice grip.

And we some mat for flows and the grip is amazing even without yoga socks on! Another amazing yoga product from Manduka- as I was recommmed This from from yoga instructor! I did wish it came with own strap but can be purchased separately.

Investigue mucho antes de decidirme por el tapete, definitivamente muy buena compra, llego antes del tiempo estimado y en excelentes condiciones, el tapete me encantó grosor ideal para no lastimar tus rodillas y un excelente agarre, el único detalle es el peso pero por el grosor es un poco obvio y el olor, huele mucho como a plástico aun que es el Eko pero con el tiempo ha disminuido, dicen que se quita totalmente así que vale la pena la espera.
