This is the shooter from the Grassy Knoll
A good book for anyone who wants to know more about James Files who is the only person to have confessed in the shooting of John F. Kennedy.I saw his first interview Confession of an Assassin on a video I rented from Blockbuster in the 1980's, which you can only buy on VHS tape on eBay now.He is very convincing. The book answers even more questions about his involvement.

I believe James Files...
I believe James Files. One of the other LONG reviews says they don't believe James Files in part because James claims there was only one other shooter, Charles Niccoletti from the Dal Tex building. That reviewer must NOT have even read they book, because James says he was only "informed" of one other shooter, not how many shooters there were. The overall plan, as to who all were involved, what roles they had and what was the motivation behind it all wasn't given to him, well DUH....that is NOt how CIA operations work. ALL information was on a need to know basis, and you didn't ask about stuff that wasn't meant for you to do your job. James does say he recognized countless people he knew, from trainings and past operations, their roles and duties he says he has no idea what they were, but clearly had jobs that day. Files does say he was not aware of the entrance wound at the throat, that doesn't mean that shot didn't happen, it means he didn't fire that shot. I suspect it came from above the triple underpass, but that is me, not from the book. James ONLY claims what HE did and that Charles Niccoletti (nobody else), who he shared a ride with that morning to and away from the scene, who fired from the 2nd floor of the Dal-Tex Building. Interesting that a bullet coming from that location passing inches over the heads in the car would continue on the the ground at the bottom of the triple underpass.....right where bullet hit near the feet of James Tague. Not knowing what other people did IS NOT the same thing as saying other people weren't involved that day. You don't get hired for jobs like this, nor get hired for future work when you ask too many questions and run your mouth.... People that leave reviews but don't read the book, are lame and should just stay quiet.

Fascinating but flawed
For most of this book I believed the author. It made made sense. In particular the meaning behind Lee Oswald comment "I didn't shoot anyone" but the when he got into the 9_11 story, something of which he was in prison at the time. It made me think that perhaps he lives in a fantasy world and as such all of his story should be discarded. An Enigma? anyway I'm glad I read it and I sort of hope it is true.Anomalies which lead me to believe that LHO in fact didn't fire a shot is the lack of residue on his cheeks, but y'know we will never know.

Phenomenal Read
History like you’ve never heard it before. It’s totally amazing that James Files is alive to tell his story, the man who fired the shot from the grassy knoll; all others associated with this part of the Nov. 22 assassination were silenced so the story would not get out. Files and Pamela Ray tell of the events that led up to Nov. 22, 1963, the shot, and afterwards. A big chunk of the book is on Questions and answers from a prior book, which adds more detail on the assassination plus the Chicago mob and their ties to the CIA on this event plus more. A definite must read.

Book worthless even if story is true!
Book is 556 pages but only 90 are relevant. Story is virtually repeated in debrief of mission. The are 90 pages listing cast of characters which is not necessary since he tells you who they are when telling hisstory. There are 49 pages of documents & 41 pages of court papers which did not interest me at all. And there are 244 pages of Q&A where he answers questions submitted to him. Most of his answers are "I don't know" or refer you to another part of this book or tell you to read a previous book of his or an upcoming book. Even if everything he claims are true, book could have been cut in half. I have read tons of books on this subject such as "Six Seconds in Dallas" by Josiah Thompson in 1967 up until his "Last Second in Dallas" a few years ago and everything in between. If I were to rank every book I have ever read on this subject, this one would be at the bottom or close to it. Save your money and buy a couple of other books you are interested in.

Clarifying the Assassination of How and Why JFK was murdered
These two people Mr. James Files and Pamela Ray allow us to hear what was behind the murder of JFK. Well written. A tell all book of what our government has been doing in the 60s. Bravo.

excellent book
I have followed the Kennedy Assassination for many years and i first heard James Files claiming to to be the shooter but i dismissed it as false. however, evrything he tells us in this book about the Mob and the CIA being involved has turned out to be true as more and more evidence has been made available and the only way Files would know this is if he was there.

Mostly a rehash of old material fluffed out with irrelevant material
Mr Files makes a good case of stating what he did regarding the JFK assassination and lists some interesting material regarding who was involved and who knew of the conspiracy. Then there is no new information to speak of in the remaining two thirds of the book. It evolves into a repetitive and tedious rehash of 'old' materialWorth a read but do not expect much that has already been said

Convincing
Somebody shot Jack Kennedy and it doesn’t appear to have been Lee Harvey Oswald who was seen in the canteen at the time of the shooting and could not have done it using the ancient WW2 Italian rifle. As is now accepted the fatal shot came from the front and not from behind. This account is convincing and details the involvement of the Mafia and the CIA. It is far more credible than the official opinion put forward by the Warren Commission.

An important book rather than a great book
If you really want some insight into why JFK was shot and who was responsible, this is a good book to read. It doesn't give every last detail and therefore isn't definitive, but it is probably the best explanation that we've got and perhaps are ever likely to get. Stick with it to the end, no matter how boring it seems at times, as there are some astonishing snippets of information buried in pages and pages of Q&A and background info which will undoubtedly get you thinking about certain other things too...
