expensive but well worth it for kids and adults
These are a bit expensive but they are worth it. That being said,I have to admit I have bought 9 so far... they are fairly small but I use them for the adults and the kids so don't just think of them as sauce cups. I use them for small measured snacks during the day (I take 2 or 3 of them with some pieces of dried fruit, peanuts, pistachios (couple of good mouthfuls in each one) but I do the same for my toddler aged children. I pack snacks in them for them as well and they are just the right size for a small snack instead of handing them a big bag. Think outside the box a little and things like 4 ritz crackers (perfect for a couple of peanut butter crackers) almost like they were made for them. 10 cheez-its crackers, a little handful of diced dried fruit or fresh since they don't leak etc... they are perfect, seal tightly and are very well made. most importantly to me, they are supposed to be 18/8 stainless and solid. Kudos to lunchbots for using an actual commercial grade and quality stainless. Many are a cheaper, less durable grade that will rust if your not careful and if your not careful will actually leach metal into your food (especially anything acidic). I'm willing to pay a little extra for better quality and something that really should last a lifetime (the rubber seals won't but we'll see). I did find that a magnet will stick to some parts of the container but not all, likely something to do with the manufacturing as it's rolled which may create a bit of a less than even distribution of the materials. Haven't actually done the vinegar test yet (pour a tbsp of vinegar in your "stainless steal" vessel and let it rest for a few minutes - if it tastes like metal - well, metal will leach into your food most notably things that are acidic. high quality stainless will not produce a metallic taste at all.Dear lunchbots - make some bigger ones, please... like a 3 or 4 ounce version.

The Best Portable Food Containers I Have Ever Had
These are quite simply the best portable food containers I have ever had, and I am an expert after four decades of brownbagging it. When they arrived, I subjected one of them to my grueling test. I filled it with water, stood over the sink, turned it upside down and shook it as hard as I could. I was literally trying to shake the lid off. Not a drop escaped. The lid stayed firm. At last, a perfect piece of equipment. I will never have mayo and mustard all over my reports again. I like to put my condiments on at work so the sandwich doesn't get soggy in transit. This has often meant the destruction of innocent and helpless briefcases and purses subjected to leaking condiments. I also purchased the large 4-ounce stainless steel LunchBots container and gave it the same test. Same result. Lid stayed firmly closed and not a drop of water escaped. I plan to acquire more LunchBot containers. They will be great for picnics, too. And what a perfect Christmas present! I appreciate and look for superb equipment, and I feel downright smug about discovering these amazing containers. Oh and they are dishwasher friendly too. What's not to love?

Durable Leak-Proof Containers If You Tighten Them Correctly
These sturdy metal containers are perfect for some salad dressing or dipping sauce that you want to put in your lunch. The secret is in the thick silicone gasket in the lid. When securely tightened, it is leak-proof and air tight. The gasket easily detaches for cleaning and drying. The stainless steel construction is surprisingly heavyweight. The only reason that I am not giving these five stars is that the containers are not fully threaded. Instead of a full spiral thread on the container and the lid, the tightening mechanism is a set of tilted indentations that allows you to turn the lid until it is pulled tightly against the container. If you turn it too far, though, the lid turns past the indentations and pops back off the container. It requires a fine touch to screw down the lid until it is air tight without turning it so far that it pops off again.

The lid comes off if even slightly jostled in my bag
You could calll these leakproof if all you did was the little test that I did when I first received mine: I filled them with water, screwed the lids on, and placed them upside down on my kitchen counter overnight. When I checked the next morning, no leaks. Excellent, right? Unfortunately, real-life use involves getting a little jostled about in my lunch bag, and when that happens to one of these little containers, the lid will come right off (it takes less than a quarter turn) and spill the contents into my bag. I still use them, but only if I can wedge the container into a spot where it will be upright and not have anything rub against it. If these had screw top lids that really screwed on firmly, these pricey containers would be perfect instead of being a waste of money. So disappointed, especially for the amount of money these cost.

Surprising versatile and delightfully simple
These are practical and durable. They are just about perfect for carrying tiny amounts of things I do not want spilling all over the place. I use them for salad dressing and sauces in bento boxes, salt and herbs for carrying, and once some delicate jewelry I carefully wrapped in cotton and knew would not be crushed in these little metal containers. Since they are so easy to clean I have absolutely no difficulty remembering to wash them out and no hesitation about reusing them. In the end my favorite kitchen essentials are ones I find myself reusing constantly and I seem to continue finding uses for these. I Highly recommend them.

Suitable only for adult use (not great for kids)
I wanted to love these metal containers, but I don't. When properly closed, these containers seem to be leak proof. I was hoping these containers would be suitable for my children to use (aged 6 & 7) in their packed lunches, but they aren't. You need to push the lid down a certain way while turning it for it to be closed and sealed properly. Even I have had problems doing this (it takes a bit of getting used to), but I can't rely on my children to do this, so the contents of their containers leaked in their lunch bags. I think these are appropriate sized for adults to use with the caution that they do need to be closed properly in order to work. I wouldn't recommend this for use with children.

Finally a container that is really leakproof.
They are truly leakproof; which is something I have been desperately trying to find. The only thing is it's a bit pricey for such little tins, but I guess it's what you have to do to stop lunch time accidents.

Klein aber fein
Gute Döschen, halten wirklich sehr gut dicht. Wir nutzen sie für den Tagesbedarf an Nüssen, wirklich rein gutes Produkt. 5 Sterne in Preis/Leistung wären es, wenn sie noch ein kleines bisschen größer wären.Aber dennoch klare Empfehlung!

Sturdy little pots for lunch bits and bobs
Very sturdy little steel pots! I use them for humous or dried fruit in the kids' packed lunches. They do a great job and are easy to clean. I haven't tried them with salad dressing yet so can't vouch for their "leakproof-ness" but the seal in the lid looks like it would cope.

Expensive but worth every cent
Been using these to carry olive oil, vinegar, balsamic and other seasonings. It's perfect. Watertight, no leaking with the silicone seal, doesn't retain any smells, but I wouldn't wash it on the dishwasher - I've had other silicone utensils pick up a taste and smell from it, so won't be taking any chances. Great all over!

Durable and handy!
Durable and super handy for taking salad dressing or peanut butter and jam for lunches or on-the-go. Won't leak - has a removable silicone gasket in the lid. A great purchase and saves money over the long-haul because these will last forever, and, they're good for the environment!
