Have seen others for double the price Wanted it fast but cheap Got this and dose what it should The packaging is great The delivery was fast The product quality is great sturdiness is good The size is good Burn time is perfect Smell comes off the chips as it should I would definitely recommend if it’s something you want to try to add some flavour to your bbq

This smoker box is a a perfect and more economical version to the Weber box, which retails for around 3 times the price. From what I can tell, there are two obvious differences to this and the Weber that could influence your decision. 1. This box does not have vents or holes in it's base. It is a solid sheet of steel. 2. The box does not have a lip to make it easy to top up if needed whilst on the grill/BBQ. Both of these issues did not impact me whilst using on my gas fuelled Weber Q2200. Contrary to ALOT of advice on the internet (but not ALL advice) I did not soak my chips before putting in the box. Some have said that soaking will induce steam - which make sense. I also think for a gas grill where there is no live hot coals and this sits on the hot metal plate, this causes the heat to transfer by conduction to the chips which then smoke. The smoke lasted for around 30-40 minutes, which was enough to give a really good flavour to our burgers, sausages and koftas. Obviously, if you are cooking for longer/more people you may need to top up the chips which could be hard given there being no lip. Overall, I would recommend this box for the Weber Q2200 and potentially other gas BBQs

Really adds to a gas bbq gives a great hickory tasting meat

This was only first time that I have used a smoker, will use alot more wood next time and get more smoke around the meat.

I bought this somewhat skeptical that it wouldn't make any difference and just produce a load of smoke and we wouldnt really know any different. I was wrong and I'm a convert. We have a Weber gas BBQ and this is just perfect for our cookouts. Since we found the BBQ mats taht have allowed us to BBQ half sides of salmon, it just made perfect sense to add the smoke box and add some extra flavour. It did just that and we now wont ever buy hot smoked salmon from the supermarket ever again. We've tried with both Maple and Whiskey flavoured wood chips and both are amazing for flavour. Before the good weather ends we'll be adding the box to general chicken thigh cooking for that extra hint of flavour. This is not a replacement for a traditional smoker what cooks low and slow for hours. Depending on how you prepare your chips this will provide a smokey element to your cooking for around 30-45 mins. The box quality is exatly what you want, sturdy and well made. We're really happy with it and now won't be without it in our BBQ arsenal.

It works well and seems durable but it gets dirty quickly, although Iguess it is not a big issue.

Pretty poor show really. First use, it deformed slightly so won’t shut properly. Wood chips (dry) caught fire in it, no doubt coals too hot but what do you expect?. Amazon accepted a return of course which is great and takes a lot of risk out of shopping with them.
