VM5463-2 Video Baby Monitor with 2 Cameras, 5" HD Screen

We have only had this monitor for a couple of days, but so far we love it!! We tried it on a whim, because there were only a handful of reviews, being that it was a new product on Amazon. The few reviews it had were fantastic, so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad we did!! We had a Summer Infant monitor for our first daughter. She is almost 4, and it still works pretty well. It's basic, but good quality. We were hoping to find another one from that company for our youngest daughter, but we couldn't find one for our needs. We tried a Motorola one instead, and it was pure garbage! The sound constantly cuts out, the picture quality is poor, and the battery is horrible! It could charge all night, and then die as soon as we take it off the charger. Other times, it's fine. It's never consistent. Needless to say, it was a huge waste of (a lot!) of money, so we decided to search for a new monitor again. I've been doing research for a few months now, and nothing popped out at me. The reviews were always so mixed, and it didn't give me a lot of hope. I looked again last week, because I needed SOMETHING functional at this point, and stumbled upon this product. I am so, so glad I found it!! The picture is amazing, it's a large monitor so it's easy to see, the battery is really good on it, and the reception is awesome! We were able to get it to reach way further than the other monitors we have. It has all of the features I've been looking for, and then some! I can't say enough good things about it. It's still early, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint as time goes on. If you're struggling to make a choice in which monitor to purchase, I HIGHLY recommend this one!!

I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I am a caregiver so I bought 2 of these - one for me and one for a friend - to help us monitor our patients at night. The families are either unable or unwilling to purchase these for us to use so we got them for ourselves. My friend's clients wouldn't let her use hers, so I'm going to use them both now. My client can get up at night on her own so I install and uninstall my cameras for my 48 hour shift. My client is a fall risk, has dementia and is nearly always horribly confused especially at night or whenever she falls asleep. These help me to monitor her even as I sleep and when I'm doing housework! ⭐I was very sad when I realized that I could NOT use both cameras on a single parent unit, I'll have to take both parent units & set them up. 😫 ... Oh well. At least the hard part is DONE which is to purchase them! ⭐They DO work right out of the box! **Look on the side of the cameras and flip the switch to ON or they won't work!** I was freaking out the first time I bought them because of this issue! 😅👍 Don't be a goof like me!😁 ⭐I bought used ones. On a full charge they last about 6-7hours. I try to keep the parent unit plugged in unless I take it with me to the bathroom or when I shower. ⭐Night vision gets dark because it tries to save battery and you have to click a button to make it get a bit brighter again. Don't get me wrong, this IS NOT a deal breaker - just a minor inconvenience! It works very well though, if you have a night light ON in the room. (I keep the hall light on for more clarity.) ⭐Conclusion - I DO LOVE these monitors! So useful and helpful!

This is a great option for a baby camera. I have two toddlers and it’s perfect for us. The pic shows the monitor near the end of my yard by our swing-set. My older toddler wanted to play outside while the younger one was still napping and this made it possible. The image was clear (despite my bright pink shirt reflecting over the screen in this pic). The camera displayed on the monitor is in the bedroom where I’ve circled the window. It would be nice if the battery charge lasted longer, but it lasts about 3-4 hours so that’s long enough. I’d also have liked the ability to zoom out. You can only zoom in a little more and then back to where you started so the zoom is kinda useless. If you want to see the entire room from your view this is NOT the product for you. This focuses on one spot, like a crib or bed, but you can pan around to see other areas in the room. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this set.

**Update** 2/6/22 Sadly the battery life on the main viewing unit has gotten worse and worse. Since my toddler wakes up soundless like a little ninja I need the video on to see her getting up. Since it comes with two video monitors, I use one of the power cords to take the parent unit wherever I am and plug it in. It would be helpful if the company gave tips on how to maintain battery life. I am guessing it is a battery type where if left plugged in too lng it starts doing more harm than good, or maybe it needs a full drain to reset or maybe it should never drain. See , I have no clue. I am going to write the companyto see if the battery can be replaced.*** If you are choosing between the InfantOptics DXR-8 or this one, get this one!!! The dxr8 would NOT reach my bonus room behind my garage which was hardly fifty ft from the bedroom but with walls in between. I hated that I could not control the volume on separate buttons as well. But this VTech unit does all that to my relief!! This monitor has far more features than the dxr8 as well. Maybe the dxr8 was amazing ten years ago, but the vtech is like a modern update. You can choose the unit to turn off and only turn on if sound is detected, or turn off sound activation so the video stays on. OR turn off the screen but still hear audio! One thing I have noticed so far though is that battery life is probably not nearly as good as the dxr8. I am not sure how long it lasts if you leave the screen on but it has already dropped a bar from leaving it on the past 10 minutes. It also comes with two cameras for the price of dxr8’s one. Highly recommend if you hate the DXR8’s shortcomings, this one makes up for it.

Third baby and my angel care monitor stopped functioning. I had ordered a direct from the company v tech monitor that had a huge screen but never stayed connected to the cameras. This monitor is great, good picture quality the sound is great on it. The camera itself was easy to assemble and place and setting it up was a breeze. I will say the downside to this monitor is the size of the screen, it is small. The "stand" that it is supposed to sit upright with is just a bump out from the monitor and does not work well. What matters is that it's a video monitor and it's sound is clear and it's picture is clear. For the price it's worth it.

Ok I want to clarify the questions that affected the star ratings don't do the stars justice. This is a GREAT package for the price. No need to spend any more if you're only looking to monitor your children. 1. Picture quality / 4 - No this is not an HD 4k blah blah camera, but it is GREAT quality for great value. You can see your children with no issues, although it is not "crystal clear" but it doesn't need to be. The night vision is awesome as well with no issues telling if your fussy children are playing around still. 2. Battery Life / 3 - The battery doesn't last SUPER long (haven't really timed it) but I try to leave it plugged in anyway, only removing it from the chord when I am on the go about the house. 3. Sheerness? - This shouldn't have been a rating question, should be replaced with quality, so that's what I rated it on Quality / 5. The cameras come with everything you need to mount them, the mounts are stable and have adjusting knobs so you can position it any which way. The monitor in no way feels cheap, and the features are awesome, with the bonus of night vision you also get a cute color changeable night light, and projecting stars (but keep in mind if you mount near the ceiling the projected stars aren't all they could be). If you plan on mounting on ceilings or near, keep in mind the chords aren't SUPER long, I had to mount mine about 1 foot off the ceiling) so they're probably about 6 foot chords. Be sure to get some cable covers if you're using for a toddlers bedroom. Now that my rating questions are out of the way, with a little extra details. Here's my experience and why I wanted these. I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. They play as kids do, and no fair to my little girl she can't quite talk yet, only being able to say a little bit. So my boy is ALWAYS "telling on her" or one of them gets a boo boo and only he can tell the story, like Mr. Teddy did it. So we decided to get this monitor set and put one in each of their room without telling them. During playtime we watched and discovered Little mister likes to throw things at the camera (which he got a timeout for and explained not to do that, since he's old enough to understand, but he may have not known what it was beforehand) and little missy likes climbing on her toybox and trying to fly (which she got corner time for and a big NO NO NO, since that's what works for her lol) Both kids are now aware of the cameras (its been like 3 weeks or so now) little missy loves the night light, music, and stars. Where as little mister is always cautious with what he does, never knowing if he is being watched or not. We don't always monitor them we let them be kids, but I'm telling you since purchasing this I have seen a big difference in how they play with each other and I'm glad we didn't wait any longer. We put a stop to ruff playing and dangerous actions before they developed any further. The piece of mind a simple camera can bring can change the way your child develops, and based on how you react can be for the better.

I purchased this baby monitor so I could keep eyes on my toddler when we transitioned her from the crib to her “big girl bed”, and make sure she was staying in bed. This monitor allows me to do that. The picture quality is not great, but good enough that I can see whether she is in bed or not which was the main motivator for buying it, so this is not a huge concern for me. Some definite negatives of this product include poor battery life on the parent unit. It seems to take no time at all for the battery to be down to one bar and need to be plugged in. My biggest concern with this product is the sensitivity to sound. Occasionally I hear my daughter making noise in her room, and the monitor does not pick up those noises despite being set to the most sensitive setting (supposedly supposed to pick up even background noises). All in all, this products accomplishes what I need it to(being able to visually check in on my daughter in her room at night), though there are a couple things that could be better. Not a five star product, but perfectly acceptable for my needs.

Love the options and functionality it provides. Only flaw in monitor is that the lower volume button sometimes sets off the zoom feature (which is the button above). Annoying, but not worth the hassle to return/replace. Edit to add: battery life deteriorated significantly after 1 year of use.
