'A really good starting point to discover what lights you up' - Emma Gannon 'Unlock your inner creativity and ease your anxiety' Daily Telegraph THE MULTI-MILLION-COPY WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER Since its first publication, The Artist's Way has inspired the genius of Elizabeth Gilbert, Tim Ferriss, Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and millions of readers to embark on a creative journey and find a deeper connection to process and purpose. Julia Cameron guides readers in uncovering problems and pressure points that may be restricting their creative flow and offers techniques to open up opportunities for growth and self-discovery. A revolutionary programme for personal renewal, The Artist's Way will help get you back on track, rediscover your passions, and take the steps you need to change your life. 'Each time I've learned something important and surprising about myself and my work ... Without The Artist's Way , there would have been no Eat, Pray, Love ' - Elizabeth Gilbert Review: Highly recommended for creatives - Perfect book Review: Brilliant classic that's about creativity and so much more! - I had been dissuaded from buying this book by some friends who told me "you don't need this!, It's for people whose creativity is blocked". In the end I got the book for two reasons: 1 It is a classic and being in the field of coaching myself, I thought I should read it regardless and 2 I generally like making up my own mind! The book is fantastic for anyone wanting to create something - from a painting, piece of music or free time. Sure the book is about a process to free up creativity but in my view Julia has approached creativity in it's broadest term. Her references are more for people in the creative arts, that is true. That said, anyone who undertakes the process she describes will benefit from it. The exercises and the daily practice of journaling is lovely and I, like everyone else who has worked with this book judged by the reviews here, discovered in me something new opening up: a way forward for my inner artists on projects I was stuck on. What is needed of course is persistence and discipline to keep with it. For me, this meant I went on a crush course, disregarded Julia's advice for a week-based process and accelerated the pace so that I did the whole book in days. I was glad I did. I have in fact given five copies of this book to colleagues and friends whom I felt would benefit from this way of being. This is a very worthwhile book to keep on your shelves and never give away. I know I will revisit mine for myself and also with my clients.

The Artist’s Way is a transformative guide for unlocking creativity and overcoming self-doubt. Julia Cameron’s approach, especially through tools like Morning Pages and Artist Dates, helps break through creative blocks and reconnect with inspiration. Whether you're an artist, writer, or just someone looking to live more creatively, this book provides both practical exercises and deep emotional insights. It’s a must-read for anyone seeking to nurture their creative spirit and build a more fulfilling, expressive life.

Good book
This is good and I do think the morning pages is a good idea. Sometimes the militancy of the author and the repetitive nature of this make you want to skim it a bit. But worth a read if you are pseudo creative.

Wonderful so far
I'm 1 week into it and already had so many breakthroughs, the morning pages are better than any therapy I've tried as I can ramble without having to make sense to anyone else, I dont have to delve deeper if I don't wish too and I dont come away feeling unheard and misunderstood. The tasks have led to breakthroughs in regards to past trauma yet its been a gentle process and I actually like how it references God as I feel more comforted and supported in feeling that connection to a greater creative power. As an autistic adult with cPTSD the morning pages, affirmations and tasks have already brought a lot of clarity that I've been searching for most of my adult life.

Igniting My Creative Journey, Eager to Begin The Artist’s Way
I haven’t cracked open The Artist’s Way yet, but I’m genuinely looking forward to getting started. The paperback arrived in perfect condition, and I’m pairing it with the accompanying workbook for a hands‑on experience. Just holding it gives me a sense of possibility, I can’t wait to dive into the morning pages habit, engage with the spiritual prompts, and uncover fresh creative insights. Based on its glowing reputation and careful packaging, I’m confident this will be a transformative read. Here’s to embarking on a path toward higher creativity.

Not my cup of tea
I think the Artist’s Way would be suitable for some, but it’s really not for me

Book came damaged and dirty
The book had something like jam splashed on it. The corners look like the book was used often. Definetly not worth the price if it comes like this... My first purchase on amazon and I'm not going to make the same mistake again. Don't recommend buying here.

Save your money and go for a morning walk.
I know it's a classic, but that's not always a good thing. Dated new-age self-help truisms, circa 2000. Save your money and go for a walk. According to Elizabeth Gilbert, "without The Artist's Way, there would have been no Eat, Pray, Love." Enough said.
