Cable Matters 10Gbps Snagless Long Shielded Cat 6A Ethernet Cable - 100ft, Cat 6A Cable, Cat6A Cord, Ethernet Cord, Black

I picked up a 100ft cable to go from the basement closet (where my gateway is) through my garage up into the office. I was having issues with the previously ran cat5 cable and after running this one my speeds went up by 100mbps. Overall it was easy to pull through walls and (snagless like it says) and the connectors and shielding are good. I probably didn't need all 100ft (have a bit spooled in the closet in the basement) but even so, the extra length isn't affecting my network speeds in the office.

Update (May 2025): My original runs are still going strong, and I've now implemented additional runs using this vendor's shielded cable (I've also used unshielded cable from this cable, for those who might ultimately use unshielded cable). Performance continues to be great. As long as this vendor doesn't get greedy (as happened with some other cable vendors who started to build a reputation), they'll officially be my "go-to" vendor from here on out, and I suspect they'll continue to amass a similar following. Keep up the nice work, Cable Matters, and please don't get greedy!Original review: This product is a good balance between quality and price. There are cheaper cables out there but I consider Cable Matters to be a reliable vendor. Be prepared for your cable run to be slightly more involved if you're using shielded cable, as it's somewhat thicker and less flexible than unshielded. And read up on shielded vs unshielded to see which is best for your use case. Shielded may be very important or needless overkill that just costs you more. But if you do need shielded cable, it's still easy to use and install, so no need to worry too much. This cable has worked well for me, and it was just the right length for my use case. They offer plenty of colors, which is nice if you need that for color-coding or matching an aesthetic if part of the run will be exposed. And the connectivity / signal quality is great, of course.

Well made cable; the RJ45 clips at either end are a bit on the fragile side, take care not to bend or break them when releasing or connecting the cable.

Perfect and simple ethernet, all you need. This length is super nice as the wifi extender I use is a ways away from my PC. The wired signal brings in max mbps that my router outputs!
