I generally use the headphones for 1-2 hours at a time before placing back in the case. This whole setup lasts probably 5-6 uses, so 8-12 hours, before needing to be recharged as a whole. I have tested these with every genre of music , including old classical Hindi songs and newer ones, all the English genres including EDM. And let me tell you , I am gobsmacked. And yes , Sennheiser is charging a tax or very high premium for this single feature , like Apple is charging for its ease of use and excellent transparency mode)2.
