Great replacement for expensive wi-fi contract. Everyone should get one!
This is an excellent product. Works well with a great range. I use it with a Smarty unlimited data sim (ยฃ20 per month) and I have ditched my expensive broadband supplier altogether. It copes with two phones, 3 smart TVโs, a video doorbell, an i-pad and all without any problems. I am lucky because my Smarty signal is great from 3UK. It means I can take it in the car and out to other venues and not use dodgy public wi-fi. Whatโs not to like?

Great little Wifi device
Bought this for an upcoming trip to Europe as my current mobile provider charges a daily roaming fee and by using a PAYG SIM from a different provider (with no roaming fees), this was a cheaper option. Set up was super easy via the app and the wifi strength is really good. I like the fact it's small so I can keep it in my pocket with my phone so I have access to internet, email and social media platforms etc when I need it. Only downside is the battery only lasts about 8-10 hrs so if I'm out all day, it sometimes struggles. I get round this by turning it off when I'm on the move (usually 2-3 hrs at a time) so it's not a problem. I guess there are other devices with a longer battery life, but for ease of use and practicality I would recommend this.

Does the job
A neat little device that does the job intended. Battery life is good and can also be used when plugged in. Performance wise, the range seems solid and is only mildly affected by walls. This is only 4G not 5G but that's reflected in the price. It does feel a little plasticy and doesn't scream premium but again I feel that is reflected in the price point.

Not worth it
Not very good. The WIFI part is fine but the 4G receiver is not good at all. In fact it is worse than my old ZTE MF920U. The software works fine but the performance is so bad I can't see why I would use it. An annoying part is the poor SIM card cradle which will not shut properly. I had to put I piece of card over it so the battery pushed it down sufficiently to work! If you are really stuck for internet in your garden then it might be just OK but other than that do not waste your money.

Good wee device
Bought this as a friendโs kid was in a hospital ward for several weeks where her mum and dadโs mobile network had a terrible 4G reception (so when she tried to play her online games on her tablet via their hotspot it didnโt work). We tried from my network when I was in visiting and it worked great so I got her a data SIM for my network and bought this device to put the SIM in (as opposed to her dad having to change his phone contact to my network). It worked really well. You just insert the sim and turn it on and then connect to it like you would your home WiFi (username and password are are provided). Meant she could play Roblox and other games which made the whole hospital experience a lot less stressful for her parents. Couldnโt comment on range, but certainly would well from up to 4 or 5 metres away no problem. Battery lasts well and can be powered from mains or a power bank. Really easy to set up and fits in the palm of your hand. Would recommend.

Works well although with 3 devices got hot and crashed
On the whole this works really well to provide wifi on the go. Signal is good and using for eg a zoom meeting was excellent - no buffering or anything. I haven't tried streaming music or TV. I've put in a Smarty sim card which gives me 30GB for ยฃ10/mth as well so no danger of running out of data. The battery life is also pretty good - several hours, although note it does not have a universal charge point like most phones do now and the lead is very short. Only thing I have noticed is that when I was using phone, lap top and a tablet all at once it got hot and then the wifi crashed. I won't be using so many devices most of the time so this probably doesn't matter too much but could be something to bear in mind if the whole family want to use. Another point is that my anti virus software on my lap top thinks it is an insecure connection. I don't quite know what it means by this given it has a password but maybe it is easier to hack than regular broadband? Something for the tekkies to answer

Broadband filler inner
Very easy to set up and an ideal solution that worked in between setting up broadband. Even though it doesn't have a daily use anymore I still use it for journeys on the train and I have taken it abroad as well to use WiFi in the room. It has a sleek and simple design to it. One button for use to turn power on and off. The range on this device is good and it could still be found and connected from upstairs to down. Definatley value for money as it continues to have a purpose.

Did exactly what I wanted
Brilliant bit of kit. Purchased for mobile coverage using an EE unlimited data sim and gives great coverage. Even used on our narrowboat with good results particularly if located on a window. Have used it with 5 devices connected and all good

Awful trash.
Trash. I wish I hadn't bought this piece of junk. Pathetic, I expected better from TP Link.
