Does this ring have the shiny edging? I bought another and it is gray all around and not like the picture shows.

I believe it depends on the one you buy, some options might be matte. The one I bought has shiny edging. I've worn it every day for the past 5 months and it hasn't become dull either. Just shows scratches, but you can't see them unless you have the ring right in front of your face. I hope this helps

Why does it say to remove when you shower?

Not sure - my husband never takes his off (working out, showering, dishes) and hasn't had a problem. In 6 months of wear it definitely has some scratches, but it still looks great! We're really happy with it.
