The Wiggles: Wiggle Time

We have had Wiggle Time on VHS for 10 years, and the tape is wearing out -- so I bought this and it's exactly what I was hoping (except that it's missing the preview that had the "Hot Potato" song that my kids all love, so I'll have to find that elsewhere). It is a Wiggles movie that doesn't have the computer graphics, which we like for toddlers. It's simply singing and dancing with VERY simple backgrounds, and my son loves it! I am teaching english to kindergarden kids in Japan and this video has helped me a great deal with my lessons, the songs are so much fun I find myself singing them, especially the "Hot Potatoe" one, also the dances that come with the songs are so much fun for the little ones, especially the "Here comes a bear" motions. I don't see why anyone would find this video disturbing, unless they have something against men being kindergaden teachers. I think it's quite good, about being low budget, I really disagree. I don't think this would be any diferent to kids today then sesame street was for us. Maybe for kids older than 5 it would be to a litlle too simple. I think a child's apreciation of this video depends on the amount of exposure they have had to more adult things and their level of maturity. I personally know children that at age 7 are allowed to watch movies like "Aliens" which is R rated, so videos likes this would seem rather silly to them. I really think this video is good clean fun.

Good VHS

We've had the CD for several months now and my 3 year old and 18 months old don't get tired of it, we usually listen to it in the car on the road to daycare at least 2-3 a week. We all sing-along, myself included... I usually get stuck with at least one of the songs and sing it (in my head) the rest of the way to work, but I don't mind. The songs are short and fun. When we do listen to this cd at home, they always dance the entire time CD lasts and ask for a replay. My 3 yeard old actually complained while in the car that she "can not wriggle" along due to car seat restraints!

Behind Yummy, Yummy DVD, my boys enjoy Wiggle Time. The songs are still pretty simple and the hand motions are easy for my 15 month olds to pick up. I have a few DVD's of the newer Wiggles, but my boys still prefer the original cast and low budget backdrops in this DVD and in the Yummy, Yummy DVD. Maybe as the boys grow up, they'll appreciate the new cast members and the more complicated songs and locations of the updated Wiggles, but for now- this DVD is perfect for their level of comprehension and play. Their favorite songs are: Here comes a Bear, Uncle Noah's Ark, Rock-a-Bye Your Bear and Marching Along...

This as well as the other Wiggles DVDs we bought from Amazon are a huge a hit with our granddaughter, age 17 months. It seems the more she watches it, the more she enjoys it.She loves to "dance" to the music, actually more of a wiggle - this group is so well-named!I like that these are not DVDs that a baby/child just stares at; they really encourage physical action and "dancing."

The Wiggles are great for our 4 and 7 year olds. They get up and dance, sing and learn how to treat each other kindly. They also learn things about different animals and cultures. The.Wiggles are not as manic as many of the offerings for children, and they don't "electrify" the kids as some videos do. They're not new, but they are timeless.

Great DVD, The Wiggles never go out of style for the preschool age group. My oldest son had this DVD when he was young and it was one of his favorites, it had been badly damaged and thrown out years ago. Now my youngest son has started watching the Wiggles and was wanting more than just the 2 DVDs we had left. I knew this was a hit in the past and it didn't disappoint this time either! It kept my son engaged and dancing along the whole 32 minutes of air time. Thanks Wiggles!

Bought for my son, hard to find these anywhere

2歳4ヵ月の息子用に買ったのですが、事前に見たところ「え！古い感じだし、オヤジ達だし間違えたかも！」と思いました。だけど息子は初めて見た時から大笑いでした！そして私にとってのオヤジ達は息子には「お兄さん」に見えるらしく、「お兄さんみるー」と自分から催促してきます。一緒に動きを真似したり、歌ったり楽しそうです♪♪

生きた英語を子供達に聞かせてあげたくて、英語が全く話せない我が家の子供達でも楽しめるDVDをと購入しました。日本の子供番組だと、若いお兄さんとお姉さんというイメージだったので、中年のおじさん4人のwigllesがなぜ人気なのか疑問に思いましたが、手頃な値段だったので失敗しても良いかと購入してみました。4歳の息子は初め、テレビに映るwigllesに見向きもしませんでしたが、1歳半の妹は初めからwigllesと一緒に映っているオーストラリアの子供たちを指差しながら音楽に合わせて踊っていました。購入して毎日のようにDVDを見せたり、音源を録音して流して聞かせてみた所、2ヶ月経った今では、息子もすっかりwigllesの大ファンになりました。朝起きるとすぐにwigllesが見たい‼︎と言い出し、朝からノリノリで一緒に歌って踊っています。jeffが居眠りをしている場面では、掛け声に合わせて『Wake up jeff！』と叫んだりと、英語のフレーズを口にするようになりました。収録されている歌は、大人でも思わず口ずさんでしまうほど耳に心地よい軽快な音楽ばかりで、子供っぽい安っぽさは感じられません。さすが海外の子供番組だなと思いました。今では家族全員がwigllesの大ファンで、次はどのwigllesのDVDを購入しようかなと考えています。
