So got it out of the box, and smoked two chuck roasts and chicken legs and thighs. I wrapped the chuck roast in butcher paper and then smoked the chicken . This smoker is extremely accurate. I extended the truck roast time an extra hour and I absolutely did not need to do that. Chicken came out perfect. This device responds extremely well to medium temperature. Absolutely worth every nickel. I used to live in Texas, and bought this device for where I live now in Michigan. I used wood chips that I was familiar with in Texas, and let me tell you the smoke was fantastic. Heat management easy peasy and humidity was easily controlled. Excellent value for Money.

DEFECTIVE. The smoker body cavity has (2) smoke/moisture escape point on the top of the body... they feed MOIST SMOKE directly into the control panel/display. After (4) hours of NEW USE, my control shorted out. Luckily, I complained and received a second replacement control/display as the first one WAS NOT READABLE IN DAYLIGHT. ??? WHO SMOKES IN THEIR HOUSE OR GARAGE? NOT. Masterbuilt sent a replacement, but unfornately, LED's are not what you want in broad daylight. The design should have been LCD's, which you can read under most 'light' conditions. STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM MASTERBUILT on the shorted control/display. I have 'patched' my smoker with gasketing, etc, to seal off the spewing moisture and smoke that goes DIRECTLY INTO THE CONTROL. VERY POOR DESIGN, AVOID! (PS, I'm a retired engineer, I know how to troubleshoot and find the root causes of issues).

Update #2 Heating element went out when I had a 130.00 brisket. Ruined brisket because I smoke the brisket overnight. UPDATE #3 REPLACE HEATING ELEMENT READY TO GO... NO GO! BOUGHT A $108.00 BRISKET, WAS CHECKING TEMP JUST BEFORE PUTTING BRISKET INTO SMOKER. TEMPS DROPPING DUE TO WHAT APPEARS TO BE MALFUNCTION OF TIMER. NOW, MASTERBUILT WANTS ME TO BUY ANOTHER TIMER. I DO NOT, NOT, AND NOT RECOMMEND THIS SMOKER. TERRIBLE DESIGN. HORRIBLE QUALITY. *******UPDATED DETAILS******** THE SMOKER IS A NICE SMOKER THAT DOES THE JOB. HOWEVER THE INSULATION IS NOT VERY GOOD. WHEN THE OUTSIDE IS AS HOT AS THE INSIDE, IT IS CLEAR THE INSULATION IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE CONTROLLER ON THE TOP OF SMOKER IS NOT VISIBLE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. I LITERALLY HAD TO GET A BLACK TOWEL TO PUT OVER IT TO SEE THE NUMBERS. THIS COULD EASILY BE FIXED BY THE MFG. IT IS AN OUTSIDE SMOKER, YET THE MANUAL CLEARLY SAYS TO NOT LET IT GET WET. WELL, IF IT IS AN OUTSIDE SMOKER, IT SHOULD BE WEATHER PROOF, ESPECIALLY RAIN PROOF. DON'S GET ME WRONG, IT IS A GOOD SMOKER, BUT THESE ITEMS SERIOUSLY NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MFG. I SENT A MSG TO THE MFG ABOUT AN ISSUE, IT TOOK THEM 15 DAYS TO REPLY TO ME. NOT EVEY REMOTELY ACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

WOW, I don't know how we lived without this. I use the smoker at least once a week. I am 72 , it is so easy use, I do it by myself. Great quality, and well thought out. It is on wheels and easy to move. I find it is easier to use than the gas grill. The smoked garlic is amazing. I put a whole meal on at one time. It is a great value for the money because I can use cheep cuts of meat that come out juicy and tender.

This was my first smoker purchase. I have used this smoker at least weekly for the past year and a half. Here is a breakdown of my likes and dislikes Likes It is huge. I have done full turkeys, brisket, multiple racks of ribs... I've never been short on space. I cook for about 15 people with this smoker on the holidays. Temperature control has been very good. You have to clean the thermostat between cooks, but it has been accurate when I do so when comparing to a pro e read temp. The price is very good compared to other options. It doesn't take a lot of wood chips to get the flavor. Dislikes The plastic on the door Is the worst. Almost every piece has weathered off after cracking. It stays on my porch and does not get dorect sunlight or rain. I've had to replace a power control board already. It was easy to replace but the relay shorted and the unit would keep heating even when the power was off if left plugged up and there was no temp control. The wood chip loader is a little awkward sometimes and you can bend it if not careful. Like the plastic, the metal is thin and cheap. I sliced a finger on it very easily when replacing the power controller. I wish I had kitchen knives that sharp. Summary Good value smoker. The materials are not very sturdy so treat it with care. Repair is fairly easy when problems arise. Cooks a lot of meat and does a solid job at doing it.

You know I wasn't sure about a electric smoker but WOW is it great , using wood chips , which are easy to put in without opening the door, produce a lot of smoke, meats have great smokey flavor , push a few buttons and constant heat is produced, cleans up easily, great value for the money, highly recommend

Due to the location of the controller on the top of the smoker, IT CANNOT BE USED DURING RAIN OR SNOW. Moisture gathers between the smoker and the controller and breaks the controller. VERY POOR DESIGN FOR AN OUTDOOR APPLIANCE. I just had to replace the controller for the second time, luckily the smoker is still within the 1-year warranty. Both times I was planning to smoke meat for a party of guests, both times just to find my smoker was broken from precipitation during the last cook. I'm planning to build a canopy to keep precipitation away, because it's almost impossible where I live to only smoke in dry weather, especially given that smoking times are so unpredictable. Oh, and I didn't mention that the smoker doesn't come with a cover. I happened to buy one separately. IF YOU DON'T COVER THIS APPLIANCE, IT WILL BREAK AS SOON AS RAIN TOUCHES IT. I regret this purchase and wish I had spent up for a better smoker from a different brand. I really wish I could return it.

Great smoker. Digital temperature, set and it and you do not need to worry about it. The 49” provides a significantly larger space over my old 30”. The 30” however did have two raised racks which added two additional, yet slightly smaller racks. Works well with a cold smoke adapter for Salmon and cheese.

Ive always used masterfully but this order is a real concerning disappointment. The seal on the door is off and as a result the smoke, escapes in a steady sheet out the top left corner of the door. Which would waste energy as well. The latch is not a proper size for the smoker to creat a snug close so the close is loose as well. As a result of the heat and smoke escape the first use has scorched the frame of the smoker. Hoping to find a way to get ahold of the company because this was not shipping damage. It was factory shipped and built poorly like this! Will like to return and not sure if id trust to buy again. This is the 40" smoker used once!

Amazing smoker for the price, and it can be rigged up to use a mailbox method to allow for pellets. This is a set it and forget it smoker. One design flaw is that the electronic panel is susceptible to moisture intrusion due to environmental humidity and weather, and i suggest you remove the electronics panel and store it indoors if your smoker lives outside, in order to protect the electronics.

The large size is great. Holds a lot of wood for smoking. Keeps the heat, despite cold weather. Doesn’t use a lot of wood.
