I've had these for at least a year now. I love them!! My pothos plants are doing amazing and thriving in them. I like that I can see the water in them and know when to refill them. I no longer kill my plants!!! That said this is not suitable for plants that need minimal water like a cactus. This is designed and great for plants that need regular watering but your bad at remembering when you watered and how much water you gave the plant last time.

I purchased these to transfer some of my houseplants that I thought would be better served with the self-watering method. These pots are perfect for sitting in my window sill and my plants are thriving! Some plants have shown quite a bit of growth once being transitioned into these planters. I loved them so much that I ordered a second set. My Zee Zee plant and snow white waffle plant have almost doubled in size since being placed in these. Another great feature of these pots is that they help decrease the presence of gnats because you are "bottom watering". "Bottom watering" is essentially what it sounds like; watering the plants from the bottom. This prevents soggy/wet soil which can create an environment for gnats. They also prevent over and under watering which people tend to do with houseplants, especially if they are new plant moms/dads. Since the water reservoir is clear, it is easy to see when you need to add more water.

This product came with zero instructions, not even a picture on the box. I did not realize I had to install the wick prior to potting my plant. This required me to plant the violet twice, stressing it twice. Then I had no idea how much wick went where or how much water to put in the base. So then once I had it put together I realized the wick was covered in potting soil and thus quite unsightly. Once the base is placed on the bottom water container it did not come off easily which sent my violet flying. Then I had to repot it a third time! It may, or may not, turn out well. Maybe this is something that should be second nature to an experienced person, but it was not for me. Beginners: plot your actions step by step before assembling. This item was made in China. UPDATE: Now that these planters have been in use for a while, I find them very useful. My African Violets seem to love the direct/continual water feed.

Initially when you put your plants in it, it looks great. The wick at the bottom doesn't really help with watering the plant that much, but it's ok, i'm not totally relying on that. The diameter of the pot is suitable for small house plant and the walls of the pot is pretty straight, which i like. The only thing is, after using it for a while, since the bottle part of clear, it looks horrible since algae starts growing. The top and bottom part of the pot is locked in pretty tight and i also dropped my plant trying to open it for cleaning.

Well made and engineered for self-watering pots. Would definitely buy again.

I ordered these because the watering system was exactly what I needed for my indoor plants. Based on other reviews I was a bit worried about what the quality of the product would be. I am delighted with the quality of these after receiving them today. They are perfectly fit for purpose and the quality of the plastic is very good. They fit together snuggly, and I love the transparent water well so that you can see when the water is getting low. My plants will be very happy.
