Perfect for an Starfleet Helmsman
My husband Brad always warns me not to try and update my Facebook page while I'm driving. "You'll hit another pedestrian," he says. "This isn't the Enterprise, there isn't a deflector array." Then along comes a miracle product like this! I can now happily fly at warp speed down the streets of Los Angeles, laptop or mobile device perched right in front of me, so I can keep both eyes right on it AND on the road. It's so much easier to ignore all the frightened screams and annoying honking when you've got Facebook to look at while driving. Thank you, Wheelmate!

Very Convenient
I bought this to use for work in my service truck. I use it mainly for my laptop but it serves well for eating lunch too. It prevents the neck ache caused by trying to type for long periods of time on the center console. It fits nicely on the steering wheel of my 2012 Ford F-550 that does not have a steering wheel cover. Once situated, it is quite snug and sits level with the laptop on it. I like the depth of it because it still leaves room to get in and out of the truck without removing it. I would recommend this to any field technician that uses a laptop frequently.

Does not fit all steering wheels
Does not fit my husbands steering wheel. He drives a truck and does a fair amount of work in his truck. Disappointed

A back saver! Fits 2010 F-150 steering wheel
Due to my occupation I'm on the road quite a bit. More frequently than I prefer I have to work on the laptop in the truck due to a last minute request (*cough someone else's lack of planning cough*). In a dusty but roomy 2010 F-150 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4 with a flip down 6th seat doubling as large flat top center console I'm usually quite comfortable. Of course only as long as I don't park with the sun beating through the drivers window, remember to turn up the laptop screen brightness, and take off the polarized sunglasses. In a fit of unproductivity (thank you Amazon) I searched for this product because my neck and back was tired from twisting to the right. Other colleagues of mine went to the trouble and expense of mounting a full swing-arm desk similar to what you'd see in a police car--this option was expensive, an eye sore, didn't store at all, and was just in the way of every other thing you need to do with your vehicle. Half of them removed them due to inconvenience. I found this gem and thought for less than $20 I'd take a chance. Boy am I happy I did. This fits perfectly on my steering wheel even with a steering wheel cover on. It supports the weight and base size of my laptop. It stores right in the crack between my seats where it is hardly visible and easy to reach. I just back my seat up all the way and get to work. I got caught using it by a colleague and it was over, they had to buy one. This is my second because I've even had to give one away. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer to work at the desk in my office but this is the best option for those road warriors.

Great gadget
I bought this for my husband because he has to use his laptop in his truck and this looked way better than trying to set it on the center console and try to turn and use the computer.

Makes office work on the road far easier!
It is amazingly solid! Appears to be a sheet of MDFwith a plasticized coating. It's well made and fits both of our field vehicles. Another plus is that it slips between the seat and the console of our micro-car. One that size has NO room for 'goodies', so this is well worth the price to us.

Slippery
Returned. Plastic is slippery. Can’t use it without a non-slip under your laptop. Otherwise laptop is in your lap.

Four Stars
Good, but won’t fit on thick steering wheels like in an Explorer.
