Celestron 47022 HomeCast Deluxe Weather Station

I bought this unit because I wanted a weather station that could display input from more than one remote sensor. It does have that capability, although it comes with only one. However, Celestron does not sell sensors separately. They do advise that 433 Mhz sensors from other companies "might" work with the unit, but they provide no list of units that are definitely compatible. In my case, this lack of additional sensors became especially important after the first heavy rain, when the original one was ruined. A WEATHER sensor that can't be left out in the rain??The base unit is very nice. It displays more information than most such weather stations, including sun and moon rising and setting times. The display is highly reflective, though, and so it can be difficult to view from across the room if the lighting isn't just right.

I live in Northern Michigan, and the fact that the low temperature was only minus two degrees meant that this was not the weather station for me.

Six months in, the outdoor transmitter quit working.The response from their customer service was 'buy another transmitter'
