Works for me! Love it.
Edit: I did get a couple whiffs of the smell and it is nasty. It was short lived but I would keep that in mind when placing it. It is almost full with flies and I’m happy. This works great. It was becoming very annoying having my morning coffee out on the back porch. The flies were relentless. I used cutter spray to fend them off a little but they still stayed near and constant movement. Doing fly stuff. I put up the trap in the evening and hoped for the best. In the morning, there was a noticeable difference , but the flies were still bothersome. Second morning, it was amazing how few flies were around me and how many chose to enter the trap. Im looking for refills now.I have it hanging above and to the side of me, about three feet from were I sit. No smell until I swish the bait some but it goes away.

Great Fly Trap
This is a great fly trap! Works fast, the flies flock to it. The only problem is that I ordered a second one and it was missing the white top, they sent me a replacement and it was also missing the top. I just used the top from the first one. It smelled so bad after it was full, so i tossed the bottom part.

Simple to Assemble and Already Catching Flies
Edit: Added new photos. We have a fly party. Whoot Whoot. This trap is a winner!!This fly trap was incredibly easy to put together and started working much faster than I expected. I had it set up in my garage, and within about 8 hours it had already caught several flies. It comes with everything you need to get started, including a zip tie for hanging. I used the zip tie to hang mine from an old IV pole in the garage, but you could also hang it outside or simply set it on a shelf or the ground if that works better for your space. One thing I really like is that the trap is reusable. When it’s full, you can empty and rinse the container, then use an inexpensive refill packet instead of buying a whole new trap. I haven’t needed a refill yet, but I like that it’s an option and should save money over time.So far, I’m very impressed with how well it’s working, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an effective fly trap.

Rancid but effective chatbot, i mean maggot killer
To the reviewer who mentioned cat poop being better bait, i understand the logic, and i effectively turned 1 fly magnet into 4. But I think you need to reconsider your values. What your saying is you'd rather attract flies with cat poop, which you made it seem you always have around. Maybe its there is always cat poop around, your always going to be attracting flys. And the reason they were less interested in the fly magnet because you always have supplies to attract them, your own fly manget. The stuff in these traps, im pretty sure is like chicken manure or bloodmeal, mabye bonemeal, definitely not toxic. Having cat poop around all the time imo is potentially harmful to your health u definitely dont want to be regularly handling it without disposable gloves. Now this thing really works, once you see how it works, its real easy to make 3 more from the same "flavour packet". Looks like the original prototype was probably a mayonaise container with the lid open just enough to let flies in and not out.. that aaaahhhhaaa moment....but you can use any container with a lid, (wider lids =more holes =more fly entrences. Use a drill and 3/8 drill bit, divide flavor packet equally making sure to use gloves and dont spill any on you, i did this outside. It smells awful, you want it placed at least 12 ft away from windows and doors. Thats the only downside, also you dont want to attract flies inside, like one reviewer remarked, you may have more potent fly magnets laying around all willy nilli. Very effective and fascinating to witness the struggle. I witnessed with some level of satisfaction as the device allows for only a single direction for the flys to enter with no way out. They fly around til they are exhauted then drown. it smells exactly as bad as reviews mention, rancid. After some weeks , the fluid in my trap was still there, but on top of it is where the magic happens. A growing heap of floating dead flies begins to form a solid floatilla of flies trampled by more and more flies eventually forming a mountain of dead flies. I compare the struggle to the final scene in "the one" where Jet Lei character ends up a top a tiered mountain where he is fighting endlessly again the onslauht of deamons seeking to replace him? Then the maggots start to become apparantly living on dead flies. At this point its no longer drowning as the way most die. Instead they climb and crawl about on an death march most futile. The smallest succomb to exhaustion first and are trampled into the fold. Actually its more cruel first, the constantly moving flies who are grounded by way of constant midair collisions with other flies, they either get their wings wet wings are made wet by trampling. They clean themselves sometimes temporarily regaining flight. But there is no way out. Eventually the fluid is gone and even the maggots cannot be sustained but still the stench draws more and more flies. Theres alot more to describe but you all should learn how it actually works by watching for yourselves. Last summer/fall, my fly magnet became half full with a mountain of dead flies and provided me alot of entertainment.

fly killer or maggot attractor?
so i set out this fly trap in my garage where a bunch of bottle flies had kept coming in and out (i hang out in here with the back door open). the smell is indeed rancid after a day, that's probably what's attracting the flies. however, i put this out a little after the fourth of july, and i noticed today that there were maggots crawling on the wall of the jar. is this not a trap meant to attract and kill them? very unfortunate because i believed it was working until today. 3 stars because it did work for the first week. the wasp traps i got are literally like glue boards and just held up amazing through a severe thunderstorm, still sticky and catching wasps. put up the same day, different brand. got a two pack for the same price and it's caught flies as well. for the money is isn't worth it.(picture attached was the photo i took to make sure i was looking at maggots crawling and i wasn't tweaking)

Worth every penny
Worked better than some traps, It’s sturdy attracted lots of flies, and kept them trapped. I split the packet into two doses and had good results. Filled with flys in a few days. Also, I trashed the bottom when it got full and used a recycled mason jar as replacement. Just repurpose food containers that have the same size opening as mason jar, such as a mayo container, then you don’t have to clean out the dead flys, you can just reuse the top. Moved it to the back of the yard cause the smell got pretty strong. It was easy to move.

Works great for outdoor use.
Works great for outdoor use. A little smelly so be smart about where it hangs. Caught literally thousands of flies over a few days. Very effective…it’s cheaply made, so don’t expect it to last more than a few uses, but it works very well.

Disgustingly amazing
I purchased this for in door use, as i had fly issue in the back of the house After a few days the smell was disgusting and it wasn't being that effective so I moved it outside, just out of the way. Within a couple of days the trap was fully active, capturing flies at an amazing rate. the house remained clear of most flies (just not the really really small ones). This is highly recommended - if you want it for a BBQ or specific date, its worth setting up a few days in advance as it takes some time for it to get going.

Works brilliantly!
Absolutely fantastic product! I host cream teas in our village for two days in July and, as we keep the doors to the garden open, usually get lots in flies in the kitchen (it used to be a barn). I've tried other products but this was great - I put it just outside the door and it caught huge numbers of flies. We had maybe one fly in the kitchen which was such an improvement. Very occasionally I noticed the smell (disgusting) but moved it out of the way and it still caught them. It's still catching them a week later. I will definitely be buying more bait and looking forward to a fly free summer!
