Watched this movie on the plane on/off/on/off
After trying for over 2 hours to watch this movie on the plane, (long haul) with many interruptions I gave up and ordered from Amazon, came quickly, small enough to go through the letter box, and good value. I thought it may just be a carry on from the previous shaft of many years ago but I found this one very amusing and entertaining.

No uhd disk in the uk but still a classic film
When playing the Blu-ray on the PlayStation it has a great upscale to 4k but no hdr.

Magnificent Fun but deffo NOT PC!
Sam Jackson is much better in his second outing as John Shaft. This Shaft is fast, irreverent and laugh-out loud funny. John T Usher plays Sam Jackson's rather sheltered son JJ, who he hasn't seen since he was a year old. JJ is more Brooklyn Yuppie than Harlem Gangster, much to his dad's annoyance.Shaft is of course IDGAF and his son is appalled by his complete disregard for the law. Bullets fly, Shaft beats the crap out of bad guys (when he's not shooting them) and drives around in a muscle car.The jokes are scabrous, near the knuckle and utterly hilarious. A lot of snooty mainstream media critics slammed the movie when it came out, because it was not "woke". Ignore them, this is a movie for people who like fast, smart entertainment.Oh Yeah, Richard Roundtree is in it. Three Shafts for your money. Watch it, you can't lose.

Good film
A good film for its time but I do feel the soundtrack is the best thing about it.

Super cool Shaft 😎
Loved this movie, and the first one. Good cast. Mr Jackson never fails to deliver, he's such a cool dude. Its a good mix of action & humour. Well recommended.

Where it started.
Great film. Being shot in the 70's It looks dated now, especially with the fashions. But without it we would never had had the version in 2000. Richard Round tree is the man.

GROOVY
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Good mix of action and some well considered humour, but more interesting are the subtle and not-so-subtle comments on American society and its problems. Especially poignant given the horrific stories from the U.S. in the last few months....check out the headline on Sam J's newspaper. There are a couple of cheesy moments, but not enough to spoil the overall enjoyment (for me anyway) of the movie.
