Training Manual for Isshin Ryu Karate

The one heart way.
This is a fine refresher manual for those who have been away from daily practice for years. It would've been good material to have when I was a novice too. Everything in the manual is as I was taught in the dojo.

Great Info
If you are preparing for a black belt or want to improve on any of your techniques, this is an excellent resource. I saw that it had one negative review, but it's rating were so good, I decided to get it. The techniques are well described and there are pictures to show example. The katas are well described as well. As I said, it is an excellent resource.

A Must-Have For Isshin Ryu Students
Practicing your karate at home is very important...but what happens when you forget a move or a technique that you learned in class? Give up practicing til next week's class? Practice that you THINK it MIGHT be? Phone the dojo? That's where this book comes in. Bryan Winkelman's training manual is clear, concise, easy to understand, and has plenty of photos to show positions and techniques. The step-by-step kata outlines are a must-have...we tried to find something similar on the web, and came up with nothing but low-resolution video clips. This is also a valuable resource for parents who have young children in isshin ryu karate. If your kids are too young to read the manual, you'll be able to read it and help them practice.

useless
No pictures of the kata and the written descriptions are hard to follow. The history is meagre and inaccurate and overall the book is not worth 5 dollars.
