Easy on arthritic hands; no scuffs, marks or damage of any kind; no "chemical smell" as stated in one review; light enough to be carried easily but sturdy on both hardwood and carpet (I tested both). The table was extremely carefully packed and is beautiful once assembled. Assembly was done in under 10 minutes. I have this on a 40" wall and the accent is just perfect there. I have a small (10" diameter) table lamp on top and some books and a decorative 15" tall plant on the bottom shelf. Simple, useful and attractive. Very happy with the purchase.

**Q: What’s the dimension of the shelf underneath, the shelf space between the three legs?**
A: Same as the top shelf approx 30 inches wide 14 inches deep  20inches between top and bottom shelf and 16 inches between each leg.  Area table could not be happier  Hope this helps.

**Q: Is there open space underneath the top surface? Or is the top layer just a solid piece of wood you screw the legs into?**
A: If you look at the product photo you can see that there is a flat top layer and then a vertical side panel that follows the curve of the top.  The legs are attached to this side panel, there is no danger of putting the leg screws through the table top.  This is a very nice piece for the price.

**Q: How high off the floor is the bottom shelf?**
A: The bottom shelf is 5" above the floor.
