Description
Product Description Guitarist/vocalist Ben Bridwell and bassist Mat Brooke formed Band Of Horses in 2004 after the dissolution of their nearly ten-year run in northwest melancholic darlings Carissa's Wierd. Carissa's Wierd trafficked in sadly beautiful orchestral pop, whose songs told unflinching stories of heartbreak and loss, leavened with defeatist humor. Band Of Horses rises from those ashes. Buoyed by Bridwell's warm, reverb-heavy vocals (which channel a strange brew of Wayne Coyne, Neil Young, and Doug Martsch), the group's woodsy, dreamy songs ooze with amorphous tension, longing, and hope. Both raggedly epic and delicately pensive, this is an album painted gorgeously in fragile highs and lows. .com This Seattle-based band was formed from the ashes of the incredibly talented Carissa's Wierd [sic], whose mopey and self-deprecating songs were like some magical and baroque combination of the Magnetic Fields, Cat Power, and Leonard Cohen. Longtime friends of Iron and Wine, few fans in their native Pacific Northwest could understand why Carissa's weren't huge. But they weren't, and after three albums and few folks really caring, they naturally broke up. Band of Horses, led by ultra-charming CW bassist Ben Bridwell, is a remarkably different, though just as radically excellent, brand of indie-pop sulk. These songs are anthems to ambivalence, and Bridwell's lovely high-pitched trill will please any fan of Built to Spill, the Shins, and Modest Mouse. It takes a few listens to sink in, but Everything is transcendent, shimmering, layered, and smartass emo-pop fully ready for stadium saturation. --James Conde

A Vinyl Journey into Bliss: Band of Horses' "Everything All The Time"
Hey there, fellow music aficionados! I always have an enchanting experience diving into the realm of Band of Horses' debut album, "Everything All The Time," on vinyl.First things first, let's talk about those breathtaking vocals. Ben Bridwell's voice is like a warm embrace from a dear friend. It's simultaneously haunting and soothing, effortlessly captivating your heart and soul. There's an emotional depth to his singing that sends shivers down your spine, and on vinyl, every nuanced inflection and delicate rasp is brought to life in all its glory. The overall sound of this album is a sonic masterpiece. The vinyl format adds a touch of warmth and richness that complements Band of Horses' indie rock melodies perfectly. It's as if you can almost feel the band's passion and energy vibrating through the grooves, transporting you to a different realm altogether. The vinyl medium breathes new life into each track, revealing hidden layers and textures that might have gone unnoticed in other formats. From the very first track, "The First Song," to the poignant closing notes of "St. Augustine," the album takes you on an introspective journey. The melancholic yet uplifting melodies intertwine with poetic lyrics, creating a tapestry of emotions that will leave you yearning for more. Whether it's the anthemic "The Funeral" or the dreamy "Wicked Gil," Band of Horses strikes a perfect balance between raw vulnerability and euphoric catharsis.Listening to "Everything All The Time" on vinyl is an immersive experience. It encourages you to sit back, relax, and truly absorb the music. The crackling sound of the needle touching the vinyl, the gentle hiss that accompanies the songs—it all adds to the charm and nostalgia of the experience. It's like taking a step back in time while simultaneously indulging in modern musical brilliance. The vinyl packaging itself deserves a special mention. The album cover art, the meticulously crafted liner notes—it's a treat for the eyes and the hands. Holding that 12-inch vinyl in your palms, carefully placing it on the turntable, and eagerly waiting for the music to begin—it's a ritual that makes the listening experience all the more magical. In conclusion, if you're a fan of Band of Horses or just someone who appreciates heartfelt and introspective indie rock, "Everything All The Time" on vinyl is an absolute must-have for your collection. Let it serenade you, wrap you in its ethereal embrace, and transport you to a world where music reigns supreme. Trust me, it's an auditory adventure you won't want to miss.

Outstanding Audio Quality

It took me a few days to get around to playing this record. But I was not disappointed with the performance. Every instrument is clearly rendered, and the overall sound has plenty of room to breathe. On "The Funeral", when the vocals and guitar give way to the whole band after the first verse, it's like being hit in the face with an icy gust of wind. The first strum of "The Great Salt Lake" grabs you by the shoulders and pushes you through the door. And the song only gets better from there!I may buy another copy for safe keeping.

Great album to own on vinyl
I don't know of anyone that hasn't hear Band of Horses 'The Funeral' song played on various TV shows, it's probably even been in some films. This is a great album to own on vinyl. The copy I have arrived packaged well and safely, and it sounds great. Not every artist or album is suited to vinyl but Band of Horses is one group I will only own on vinyl.

The only debut album recently which can rival The Arcade Fire's 'Funeral'
I saw this band first on myspace, in their picture - sitting in the middle of them - was a dog. I had to laugh because here are all these bands on myspace trying to look so serious & cool.. And these 2 guys are focusing more on the dog than themselves.. Funny how marketing can be so effective when done completely differently. That, combined with the band name which I thought was really cool, 'Band of Horses', I had to give them a chance & check out their music.I first heard 'Funeral', then 'The Great Salt Lake'... Within 5 minutes of the second song ending, I immediately came here to amazon to purchase the album. The first thing I noticed was just how amazing of a singer the guy is... He's possibly the best singer since Jeff Buckley himself.. His voice is incredible... How does he sing like that? I had to hear the rest of the album. When it arrived, I also noticed how cool the cover art was... And into my walkman it went. From beginning to end, I was very impressed. Over time, I've come to like this album even more.. The song 'Monsters' especially sticks out & just has such an original rock-irish feel to it.. His voice really shines on this track. The whole album is enjoyable start to finish, but the 4 main standout tracks are 'The First Song', 'Funeral', 'The Great Salt Lake', & 'Monsters'.This is the best debut album since the Arcade Fire released 'Funeral' (odd coincidence) in 2004 - These 2 bands I believe will in time replace the Pixies & Dinosaur Jr. as underground indie icons, I strongly suggest getting both.On a side note.. I picked up the new Tool album aswell as the new RHCP album this year, & I don't think either one is as good as 'Everything All the Time'.I still think Pearl Jam's new self-titled album is the best album of the year (I know, they're not indie & now you're gonna click "no" on whether or not the review is helpful) but I would say this album is third behind that & Neil Young's 'Living With War'.NOTE: For you people giving this album 5 stars... Please, get real. Be more subjective. This isn't a 5 star album & everyone knows it. The album is only 36 minutes long! It's not like every song is great or that good.. There's just no real bad songs.

A stunning debut
This was one of the best debut albums I heard from the last decade. Band of Horses has developed into something much different than what you hear on Everything All The Time, but that doesn't take away from the quality of this record. You can really see the seeds of where Ben Bridwell wants to take the band - that is, to a full-fledged, legitimate country sound. I remember him once saying something about not wanting to be defined as an "indie" band. This record did well to establish them as something outside that label.

Un gran disco. Sin más.
Me encanta este disco. Solo echo en falta un mejor empaquetado del vinilo, pues el cartón exterior es blando y la funda de papel escasa para proteger bien el disco. En cuanto al aspecto musical, sin peros.

My Favorite
Love this CD from beginning to end. This is Band of Horses at their best! Edgy and moving throughout. When Ben Bridwell wails out those high notes he really takes the emotion level of these songs up a notch. I could just put this CD on repeat and listen to it all day.
