SHARP EDGES, excellent value, keep it under the 350w rated RMS, medium build quality
It's cheap, but for the money, it appears well built. Based on my initial use, I would guess it's near its rated specifications. I don't know if anyone has put one on a woofer tester for a review, but compared to similar woofers in its price range, I'd say it sounds about right. The metal edges are REALLY SHARP! I cut myself twice, and there is blood on it. Therefore, the basket does appear to be very strong, but it also suggests that these don't go through much in the finish stage.I tested an instantaneous 1000w load, and the coil appeared to hit the yoke. At 700w, it's a distorted mess. However, keeping it at the 350w rated RMS power and below, the sound seems clean and even. The quick-connects feel rough, and although they seem to make a good contact. The cone is attractive and solid, and the surround is contacted perfectly with the basket and the cone. The gasket does not line up perfectly with the mounting holes, but it's close enough. Pulling and prying on the gasket reveals a few weak spots, so if you have the choice, mount it with the gasket side against the enclosure for added structure. As advertised, the magnet is large. This is great for compression, but it could cause a mechanical failure, so keep the watts in the proper range. The spider is stiff and has five and a half ridges. I don't know what material they used, but it looks synthetic, so it should be good in most environments. The former, on the other hand, looks like untreated paper. I would keep it out of moisture. All in all, you get a lot of speaker for the price. The quality is not poor. I would put it at medium quality, and if treated as such, it should provide several years of good sound. It should be a suitable replacement for any similarly specified driver in an existing system, and for a custom system, I would suggest using about a 3 cubic foot enclosure with a port tuned to about 22Hz. (A 2" port would be about 4.4" long.)

Don't push it passed 500 watts, clear sound
Sounded good, a little quiet for the sensitivity of 90 dbs. Single voice coil, rubber reflex, WEAK magnet (won't hold its self up vertically). All in all.... OK for the price. DO NOT OVER POWER IT!!!! After the break in cycle i pushed it with about 1k it lasted about 20 min. I knew it wouldn't last long, would be awesome at 250-300 watts and a sealed box.

great value for money
I've been wanting to put a system in my truck for about 2 years now and finally got around to it. Didnt have much of a budget but knew i would like 2 12s like i had in my mustang awhile back. I seen these on here for a really cheap price so i picked up 2. Have an old california 400watt 2channel bridgeable amp under my bed thats unused so i paired it with the subs in a box i custom made myself and its got great pure sound and can really hit that deep bass way better than i expected. So if you are goin to build a cheap but great system. Pick up 1 or 2 of these. You will not regret it!!

it is a awesome sub for the $$
Okay, first off. This obviously isn't a high quality JL, Kicker, Sony, etc. That being said, it is a awesome sub for the $$. I wanted to put together a system for cheap (really cheap) so I bought this sub to put into a truck box I had laying around and paired it with a 140 watt Crossfire amp (2 ch bridged) I got for free. After a day of breaking in it sounds really good. Clear deep bass. Doesn't rattle the car next to me, but considering the price, small amp and wrong box it is in...... I am impressed. Doesn't compare to my friends CVR hooked up to a 1000 watt amp, but then again, I spent $30, not $300+.

Amazon shows subwoofer, JR shows tweeter
If you order this from JR via Amazon, regularly check the JR order status page. I wanted this sub, but when I checked JR's order status page I saw a tweeter on order. Specifically, JR showed item # PD1 TW44; the description: "PYRAMID 1'' 300 Watt Heavy Duty Titainium Super Tweeter". I had to call JR to cancel the order. Something is not working for this item between Amazon and JR, so be careful.
