Also old bedsheets make strong sails. Remember it is 1:100 scale so don't use linen that is too thick for the masts to bear. The amount of detail you put in is up to you. There are parts for some cannon but I have some metal barrels from another project which are not supplied. I bought the model as a Xmas project during Covid crisis so I have yet t o make it but the parts are well cut and there are instructions so all you need is a modelling knife and wood glue to put it together. I use Lego to make a jig for building models as it is easy to put together and gives stability in 3D. **Q: There are 3 different models displayed in the images, which one do you actually get ?** A: Hi, I think it's the 2nd and last image. The instructions for this model are limited. If you purchase do a YouTube search for Harvey 1847 1:130 shipmodel. There's some great videos to help construction or help to decide whether to purchase. Best of luck! **Q: Are parts n this kit precut or do they ned cutting** A: They are pre cut, but do be careful, the smaller pieces can be fragile ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy *by N***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 January 2021* This model is simply not fit for purpose. You are told to read the instructions carefully before starting to build the model, but there are no instructions ,simply one A4 size sheet of paper with line drawings and tiny part numbers, some of which are printed on the plywood sheets and some of which are not. I started making the model but the materials are so thin that I am spending more time repairing the parts than building the ship. Avoid this model at all costs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Lack of instructions *by F***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 January 2021* The instructions were poor and un discriptive i wouldnot recommend this product if you do not have any prior knowledge of model ship building. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars It's cheap & chearful *by P***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 May 2021* Instructions are poor and material is too thin for this type of construction, but it's only cheap so ok for a fun build. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/208765220-oulian-wooden-sailboat-ship-kit-home-diy-model-classical-wooden](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/208765220-oulian-wooden-sailboat-ship-kit-home-diy-model-classical-wooden) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
