CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder - 2 Pack

I initially purchased these when my wife and I bought our first home and they worked so well that I gave the 2nd one to another family member and bought more for the rest of my family. They have never failed to be right on the money for finding a stud and I love how compact they are, they are great to fit in a toolbox. The magnet is strong and this has to be the best stud finder that I have ever had.

Traditional stud finder was having difficulty finding studs on my wall in garage. Got this and Very simple to use and effective

Didn't think I would use them much since I had a state of the art stud finder. I was mistaken. Aside from letting me know where the center of the stud was, it guided the placement of a trim puller preventing breakage of the boards. Impressed and please.

I bought one of those made in china electic stud finders. It is so finnicky that I was getting confusing readings all over the place. Meaning I was still having trouble finding studs. I needed to go back to basics to mount my TV and decided to just stick with these magnets. Pretty pricey for simple magnets. But it works quickly and easily.Move the magnet around and you will find magnet points where the stud finder just sticks to the wall. If you're not sure if it's a screw or could be something else. Move up and down... if you're hitting single magnetic spots in a fairly straight line up and down, you found the stud. If it's a congtinuous magnetic line, it's something else.Now be doubly sure. 99.9% of studs are 16" or 24" apart. so find the next stud over and measure. If it's 16"/24" you know for sure you found the studs. Some other tips... outlets are screwed on one side to a stud. So if you have an outlet you have a stud there as well.The rotating level is a pretty nifty feature as well, but doesn't work perfectly since you're almost always using it with something metal, and the magnet is so strong. Still useful though.Overall, pricey, but very worth it for something fairly foolproof that is easy to use and will last a lifetime.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great product - these stud finders have very strong magnets and can located a nail in a stud better than any other stud finder can. will no longer be using electronic stud finders. this is old reliable. magnet is very strong and product looks good on my metal shelving.

I love these little stud finders. I have plaster walls throughout my hundred year old house, and finding the studs to mount pictures or small shelves was very difficult. Not any more with this product. The magnet is quite strong to find a nail and stay mounted while the bubble level.I slide this over the wall where I want to mount in increasing circular motions. I don't think it has taken me more than 45 seconds to find two studs to mount to.I also love that there is a two pack, so I have one with my drill kit and one with my wall hanging supplies.
