Darn Tough Vermont socks are the best
I started the transition to Vermont Darn Tough socks about 10 years ago and have not bought anything but since. Their prices did go up significantly over the plandemic, but the socks are still a great deal. With the life time warranty, you can't beat the value.I have since replace all my dress socks, hiking socks, no-show running socks, and 1/4 height socks with Darn Tough socks. As long as they are in business, I will likely be buying their socks!

AMAZING but…😕
First off, I’ve been in the construction trades and an avid outdoorsman for over 30 years. I KNOW socks. These are probably the best socks I’ve ever had. They fit as though tailor made. They don’t stink. I don’t even know I’m wearing socks when I have them on. Breathability is great.I’ve burned through so many socks i can’t count. I decided to search for a tough sock that met all my criteria.I saw an add for these and was sold. So, even though the price was extremely high for a pair of socks I sprang for it. My plan was to give them a trial run for a few months then buy enough to replace all my other socks and throw them out thereby streamlining my sock situation. (I have about 30 pairs of inferior socks that I tolorate at best.) I’ve had these for about a month and The left one has already developed a small hole which will inevitably get larger until they (it) has to be tossed out. My big toes have always been the culprit when it comes to wearing holes in my socks. As such, I’ve gone out of my way to trim my toe nails back before wearing these. The distal edge of my nail is only about a millimeter long. This should NOT have caused a hole in a pair of socks that are marketed as durable, tactical socks and even have “tough” in the name. I’m VERY disappointed, dare I say sad, that I’ve got to go back to the drawing board and continue my search for the perfect sock. My only hope is maybe this is an exception m, that maybe I just got a bad sock or something. But, there’s no way I can pay another $17 for a pair of these as my confidence is greatly compromised now. What really sucks is I love them so much I’m considering having my toe nails removed so I can keep wearing these! Either that or take on a second job to pay for them or regular pedicures lol. With all that said I can’t recommend them unless you don’t have toe nails or get regular pedicures.Oh yeah, one last thing to mention: the fit is not such that they are too tight, putting undue pressure on the big toe area and causing the hole. If any bigger they would inevitably wrinkle or gather up in the toe box of my boots….urg…🤦🏻

Favorite Socks
I'm a little biased as a Vermonter, but these must be some of the best socks ever made.

Excellent and a great substitute for the nondurable Smart Wools. Made in USA.
Excellent and a great substitute for Smart Wools that wear out much faster than those they made 10+ years ago. Seriously I have Smart Wools from early 2000's going strong whereas recent ones wear thin or hole in <6 months. In contrast, these Darn Tough socks wear like iron. After around 3 years of wear they still look and feel great. Maybe not as soft as Smart Wools out of their respective packages but much better financial deal as they last.

Darn tough socks
Company really makes darn tough socks. I use these socks exclusively for rucking/military use. The socks are some of the most comfortable socks I have ever used. I will definitely be buying more.

Excellent sock wins the ugly duckling award!
The listing is wrong. These have a huge logo. This is a great sock that looks rediculously bad and they aren’t very wearable because of it... Darn Tough socks are my favorite, and they keep making improvements, so I hope they fix this soon. This sock height is perfect with yoga pants and cropped pants because they are not high. They are solid black, so a perfect staple that goes with almost everything. The thickness is warm but thin enough to fit into all my shoes. However...The one problem with Darn Tough is the logo placement is very tacky looking. This particular sock model is epically bad, and worse than any sock I think I have ever worn. Actually, I take that back... Hospital socks that have anti-slip printed on the top of the foot is a little worse. 🙂Normally I have to switch to Smart Wool socks for dress shoes and ballet flats to avoid the Darn Tough logo problem, but I can wear my favorite Darn Tough socks in boots and with moccasins. See the picture to see how stupid they look in moccasins! This model is for boots only, and honestly I would want a taller sock for that.I am a New England girl, and I know good socks, and I think they are worth it. But they have to be wearable. I can’t wear these to work in a professional environment. They require a fully closed shoe to basically hide the sock. Who wants something that looks like a prison ID or part number stamped on their body?Darn Tough: you have the best socks. Stop sabotaging them!

Great fit, breathable and durable
I like that these hold their size after washing. The durability is a good investment if your tired of burning through socks, and more, they are guaranteed.

Not as described
The ad said 55% merino when it arrived the label said 50% when the makers site said 55% ..more is better .. I think the less wool the less comfortable .. Its sad to see something I buy a lot losing what made them great.. Comfort and durability..

Received wrong items in correct packaging
Bought two "Darn Tough Tactical 1/4 Light Sock Men's", received two "Buffalo D.B" black crew socks - not cool for $25 a pop.
